It doesn't make sense calling it a Priest when it isn't a creature. Clockwork creatures normally works with +1/+1 counters, and not like that.

I like the card a lot, but not the name.

Then make it a 0/1 creature, that would be pretty cool.

This colorless priest that chants give protection from a color. Mechanical Priest & 0/1 creature.

Kinda off topic, but that is some funny stuff.

On topic...
a) It needs to be a creature. Even if it's a 0/1, it should at least be able to take a hit. Heck, make a 0/2 or 0/3, as it ~should~ be able to take a decent hit if need be.
b) Lower the mana cost for the activation. As it is right now, you're spending 3 mana and 3 turns (1 due to summoning sickness, 1 for a charge counter, one to use it) just to make your bobos unblockable (against a mono-colored deck) for 1 combat phase. Seems like there's quite a bit of investment for something decent, but not mind-blowing. Perhaps make it "3 or {W}, Remove a counter, T:", as white is supposed to be getting combat tricks like this, and protection is definitely a white thing.
and c) If you don't use Ephraim's flavor text, find a better name.

Nice creature Gerrymander! I like it a lot. Is there any reason it's mechanical? Why isn't it just white.

It's not really important, but I'm just curious. I think it's strange that metal things have a god, and thus priests.

As I further consider this card, I think the mana cost needs to be a little bit higher. Mother of Runes is very playable and it only protects one creature at a time (albeit, every turn.) However, Mother of Runes is also White, which Morefling has pointed out is the rightful colour of granting Protection. I really like the flavour of this card - an artifact creature performing the function of a normal creature, as long as it is kept wound. It does it a little too well, though. Upping the mana cost to {3} and/or giving an additional activation cost of {1} to the charge counter increment ability wouldn't seem out of line.
