Would someone like to loan me a deck? I don't have any non-proxy decks, but if someone has an extra, I'll probably be there, although $20 is kind of pricy for an entrance fee. I'm used to $5-10, since I know I don't have a chance at winning to make up money lost, but I digress. I'll still probably play, or at least come and watch.
By the way, I think the sign at Dreamers said signed by Richard Garfield. You may want to correct that, or maybe I'm wrong.

This thread is bumpin' material. This is a huge tourny here. We haven't seen the likes of a Lotus tourny since like Dec 2002. Both cards are artist signed, (and I'm quite certain that the lotus is also signed by Garfield as Tempe mentioned) thus making them quite awesome. Dreamers managed 56 for a sapphire, so you all better make this shit happen with 60. Last I heard, Jason says he's clearing out all the LANers and Dicechuckers for this thing too. EDIT: A side tourny has been added to the event! In an effort to attract more people, a fun side event has been added and will likely take place between 2 of the early rounds of the day. All we need is 16 people to make this thing official. We will have 4 rounds of swiss and a cut to top 8. The good parts!!: ADMISSION IS FREE if you purchase a seat in Lotus/Recall tourny. Let me tell you, the prize will be grand. All I can say is that it will be an artifact card and it is on the restricted list! It's very minty, not to mention- SIGNED! If you have never played ro-sham-bo before, let me tell you of the only 'house' rule this time around. There is a socks only policy. It's as simple as that. Extra EDIT: Be Sure To Come To The Unlimited Proxy Tournament On Friday, the 11th. Cost: 5$, Time: 6:30. Test your pile here and get it tuned for Sunday.

Results are in! There was 68 people at today's event. Many FCG and Fish decks were played and none made it to the Top 8. T8 Matt Brandt, Ravager affinity Luke Ojala, 1 land belcher Luke
Matt Jendro, Shop Slaver Luke Chris Byrnes (monotone), BFD (<3) Chris
Jon Tschida (Frost), 'Frosty Storm' Mike Shawn Ahern, 4cc Shawn
Mike Vraa, 4cc Mike Craig Olson (Milton), 4cc Mike
Deck registration wasn't required, so I had to scrounge for decklists as the top 8 was being played out and as the store was closing. I managed to get Frost's List, Matt Jendro's somewhat different Shop Slaver list, and Luke's Belcher deck which contained Vineyards, Duress, 2 Therapy, and 2 UNMASK! (quite odd, yet good enough to win an Ancestral!) I'm working on getting the other lists, especially Matt Brandt's. So if you read this Matt, send me a PM perhaps. The 4cc decks were pretty standard. Chris Byrnes' deck is damn near a carbon copy of BFD, pioneered by Rico Suave (brainstorm version) To some of you guys in the top 8... sorry I couldn't connect the dots and connect you to your TMD name. (if you have an account) Props to Nick Godrey, (no tmd name) for filling half a notebook worth of match coverage and not even playing! awesome! Also, Ben Balling (dieartze on the old boards) for using my digital camera and getting 51 shots of the top 8 goodness. I'll post the decklists and upload as many good pics as I have space for, etc. There was some real intense moments, During the finals, Luke lost 20 life to spoils of the vault searching for Belcher. Harsh. Congrats

I'm eagerly anticipating these getting posted. :) The Affinity deck would be more accurately labelled as Stacker according to its pilot's thread here: http://www.themanadrain.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=17813 and I agree, though I'll be calling it 'Stacker Affinity' in the June report.

Here's how the Finals went down, play by play... Mike playing 4cc rolls a 7. Luke with 1 land belcher rolls a 3 Game 1: Mike starts off by going 'Delta, Sapphire, go'. Luke plays Ruby, LandGrant for the Bayou, LED, Demonic tutor. Eot, Mike breaks the Delta for a tundra then Brainstorms. Luke passes. Mike's second turn=Volcanic, go. Luke plays a Vineyard on his second turn, then a Jet, then passes. Mike plays a volcanic and uses vineyard mana to wish for a Rack and Ruin, which he can cast. It doesn't matter. Luke casts Spoils of the Vault during his next turn for Charbelcher but gets rocked. Game 2: Luke starts off with Pearl, Sol Ring, Bayou, pass. Mike's first turn is Volcanic, Jet, Ring (luke goes for the eot Vampiric). Luke untaps, draws. Ritual, Ritual, Belcher, Mike Brainstorms in response. Belcher is Force of Willed pitching ?. On Mike's turn he Strips the Bayou and passes. Belcher does the draw-go thang. Mike casts Brainstorm and drops a Strand, end of Luke's next useless turn he breaks it for a Tundra. Next turn, Mike plays Volcanic and passes. Luke drops mana crypt (which ends up hurting him some) and plays belcher, which is Forced! Mike untaps, drops an Underground Sea and Mind Twists for 2. Luke goes draw-go again. Mike draws Recall and plays it. He then drops Delta and a Pearl, fetches an Underground Sea. Luke, draw-go. Mike responds next turn with a Yawg's Win casting Ancestral, Brainstorm, Brainstorm. Luke passes. Mike hardcasts Exalted. Luke passes. Mike: Swing with Angel, go. Luke tries to bluff an important Land Grant. Mike swings with Exalted. Luke dies to his own Mana Crypt. Here's some pics. Great job to everyone who attended the tourney. Sorry I wasn't there to smash all of you. Maybe I'll play again when I actually can build some of the newer decks . I played a little magic on Sunday, doing a small draft of MD5. I had a mediocre G/r deck and went 2-1 losing to a misplay involving Viridian Zealot and Fireshrieker (I didn't equip). It was nice to see a lot of faces back in magic that day. The next tourney I'll play in is probably going to be at Gencon.

Can I get it to you tomorrow? I haven't been home since last Sunday, so I can't figure out what one or two cards are.

the other 4: 1) matt brandt (gothmog) 'PlanA.dec' list/thread2) Chris Byrnes- 'BFD' He said he took the version that Rico posted that used Brainstorms over Powders, so this is what I assume. Sorry Doc, I know he had REBs in the side, but what else I am not sure. Mana (30) 4 Mishra's Workshop 2 Ancient Tomb 4 Volcanic Island 4 Shivan Reef 1 City of Brass 1 Tolarian Academy 7 SoLoMoxen 1 Mana Vault 1 Mana Crypt 1 Strip Mine 4 Wasteland
Critters (11) 4 Goblin Welder 3 Sundering Titan 3 Triskelion 1 Memnarch
Utility (11) 1 Ancestral Recall 1 Tinker 1 Memory Jar 1 Time Walk 4 Thirst for Knowledge 3 Brainstorm
Disruption (8) 4 Chalice of the Void 4 Trinisphere 3) Shawn- 4cc/germbus I didn't see anything odd, but I have no decklist and thus no numbers. 4) Craig, (Milton) go ask him

Here is my decklist:
4 Force of Will 4 Mana Drain 1 Mystical 1 Ancestral 1 Fact or Fiction 1 Time Walk 4 Brainstorm 3 Cunning Wish
2 Swords to Plowshares 2 Decree of Justice 2 Exalted Angel 1 Balance
2 Gorilla Shaman
1 Fire/Ice
1 Demonic Tutor 1 Yag. Will 2 Skeletal Scrying
4 Moxes (no Green) 1 Sol Ring 1 Black Lotus 4 Tundra 3 Underground Sea 2 Volcanic Islands 1 City of Brass 1 Library of Alexanderia 4 Wastelands 1 Stripmine 3 Flooded Strand 2 Polluted Delta
Board: 2 Red Blasts 1 Blue Blast 1 Fire / Ice 1 Stifle 1 Skeletal Scrying 1 Vampiric Tutor 1 Swords 1 Echoing Decay 1 Misdirection 1 Coffin Purge 1 Disenchant 2 Rack and Ruin 1 Gorilla Shaman
Comments on specific card decisions:
2 Decree / 2 Angels was a decision I made based on inexperience with the deck. I figured that 1 Decree / 3 Angels would be good, but I wanted at least two Decree's in case I ran into a deck playing Standstills. I was very, very happy with the way this turned-out. I mostly killed with solider tokens, not angels. In fact, it was very, very hard to un-morph the Angels, but that was mostly a problem with the mana base.
2 Skeletal Scrying instead of three was a deision I made based on the high number of aggro decks. I didn't want to find myself sitting at two life drawing useless Skeletal Scryings. In retrospect, this may have been a mistake.
2 Plows, 1 Fire/Ice maindeck was another decision I made, mostly because of my desire to kill Goblin Welders. I could very easily have run just the two Swords, but Fire/Ice did win me one game against a Food Chain Goblins deck in the first round.
2 Maindeck Shaman. This was a mistake, I should have played three! I was always boarding the Shaman in. The two also gave me a nice sideboard option agianst aggro. I could pull the two Shaman for the Swords and another Fire / Ice.
Mana base: This was a problem all day. I lost in the first round of the finals due to some terrible mana flooding in both games, really. I had a very tough time finding two white for the Angel. In one early game I couldn't find any red mana. I don't know if the City of Brass was a mistake, or if I need more Fetchlands or what.
No Mindtwist: In testing, this card was sub-optimal in that it can make a Welder very, very good, and Welders are everywhere at Dreamers. I never once was in a position where I said to myself "I really need a Mindtwist right now!". In another metagame I might play a Mindtwist, though.
Sideboard: Any sideboard is usually a best guess. I figured I'd see a ton of artifacts. The two RAck and Ruins and one Disenchant were a no-brainer, and were used throughout the day. The Shaman was a no-brainer and he was boarded in many times. The Swords, Fire / Ice and Echoing Decay were all used. The Vampiric Tutor was used, but it wasn't important. The Skeletal Scrying was used and was important. The Misdirection was never used. The two Red Blasts weren't used. The Blue Blast was used a couple of times. The Stifle was never used. The Coffin Purge was never used (but one is almost necessary).
I guess I would have liked to have a direct damage spell in the board, like a Psionic Blast. I did a bunch of damage with Shaman and Solider Tokens, and having a Psi Blast to finish the job would have been great.
I missed Dominate in the board too. What is the converted mana cost of a Morphed creature, face down? I certianly had an opportunity to seal a Welder, if I would have had a Dominate.
My big problems came with the mana-base. Wastelands are everywhere at Dreamers, and establishing that mana-base is sometimes hard. Also, fetching for the right color early in the game can be tough. My other big problem came in that I didn't have enough tutoring / drawing.
By the way, I was 5-0-2 after the swiss. My first draw came against Jon T playing a tendrils deck. I drew mostly because Jon is a very patient player and it was a control v. combo match. My second draw came in round 7 and was intentional. I got crushed in the first round of the final 8.
Let me say that this Germbus is a very, very good deck. It is very resiliant. I need to consider some sideboard options for the mirror, though, as it is everywhere now.
