I can see the logic in that, but it also means that you're depending on having three cards at once (Egotist/Tap/Fireball, Egotist/Tap/Rush - draw Fireball, Egotist/Fireball/Rush - draw Tap) or two cards (Egotist/Rush - draw Fireball and Tap). All of those yield superior results, but are also harder to get in your hand. I grant that decreasing the number of


spells in the deck hurts those chances even further, but it also increases your chances of getting a two-card combo (Egotist/Torrent) that is automatically useful.
Also, I'd still like to hear your assessment of the mana situation.
