creatures for our set. They're all splashable, with some kind of evasion, but the abilities require a heavy color commitment and are insanely good.
6R Creature - Dragon 5/5 Flying RRR,T: ~this~ deals X damage divided as you choose among any number of target creatures, where X is its power.
6G Creature - Beast 6/5 Trample GGG, T: Regenerate X target permanents, where X is ~this~'s power.
6U Creature - elemental 3/4 T: Return target creature to its owner's hand. UUU, T: Return X target creatures to their owner's hands, where X is ~this~'s power.
6W Creature - Cleric 4/6 Protection from Creatures WWW, T: Tap or untap X target creatures, where X is ~this~'s power.
6B Creature - Demon 5/4 Fear BBB, T: Return X target creature cards from your graveyard to your hand, where X is ~this~'s power.
Current Wording
Incandescent Dragon 6R Creature -- Dragon 5/5 Flying RRR, T: Incandescent Dragon deals X damage, divided as you choose, among up to X target creatures, where X is its power. Power combusts.
Blossoming Entity 6G Creature -- Elemental 6/5 Blossoming Entity cannot be the target of spells or effects you do not control. GGG: Put a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control. "Dear to the moss, Known by the knoll, Next to the robin In every human soul." --Emily Dickinson
Colossal Seaspawn 6U Creature -- Beast 5/6 Islandhome UUU: Target land becomes an island. (This effect doesn't end at end of turn.) "Their every breath a tempest, their every move a flood. Water, born of water, comes again." --Svyelunite Prophecy
Divine Arbiter 6W Creature -- Cleric 3/4 Protection from Creatures WWW: Tap or untap target creature. "Let none obstruct thy mission of justice, yet temper thy judgements always with mercy." --Credo of the Arbiters

I take it these all read "up to x target...", otherwise I can't really see them being playable, as they'd require precise numbers, or am I wrong here?

Yeah, I guess "up to X" is stronger.

I think they are fine, powervise, but the fact that some of them, the Cleric for instance, are too powerful for the 1colored mana. It seems kinda weird that you can be dropping big, bad creatures for a single-colored mana, while the abilities requires a bunch of colored mana - somehow those two factors seems to work against eachother.
I would make all of them 4GGG, or at least 5GG, and GG being the approgiate color! (;

I may have underestimated the strength of the cleric's protection; I kicked him down to 3/6, although if people want I could reduce the toughness too. The neat thing about him is that his protection stops him from being able to untap himself.
I like how splashable these are; it means that you can almost always run them, even if you can only rarely take advantage of their abilities.

Suggested Names:
Red: Belching Dragon (So I like the name - even if I couldn't use it on the Dragon I created. It still fits here)
Green: Sustaining Hulk
Blue: Abrogating Spirit (and make it a Spirit instead of an Elemental)
White: Divine Arbiter (and yes, I think it should have a lower toughness, as well. It's a strong enough creature that, with protection from creatures, both Red and Black should be able to eliminate it with some facility.)
Black: Vile Reviver

Did you know that Red is the color or art and music and passion? Combine that with Green, the color of nature, spiritualism, and community and you get a hippie commune of drum circles, dreamcatchers, and recreational drug use. Let's see that win a Pro Tour.

I love those names, especially Vile Reviver. I also like how Abrogating is a real word, that is something I did not know. It even has "gating" in the name, that's like, hidden english tech.

The green marquee creature has the weakest ability. When would you ever want to regenerate 6 things? It sort of doesn't make any sense. I would change it's ability to: {G}{G}, T: Put X +1/+1 counters on up to X target creatures other than {card}, where X is {card}'s power. This may seem strong, except when you compare it to fangren firstborn.

MAJOR revamp of the creatures. All now have names. All that's left is the flavor text.

I think "incandescing" is not a very good word.

I like that one.
Here's some flavor text I've been eying.
First, for Stygian Abomination. I really like this one, but Orlove feels a little meh about it.
"A flood will then engulf us all As Hades sends it's Clarion call, Breaking every door and wall; The strongest are the first to fall." ~The flooding of the river styx
Second, Divine Arbiter:
"A prayer is not a prayer until it's answered."
and lastly, Orlove likes this one, but I think it focuses too much on the man aspect and not enough on the literal monster.
"Had I as many mouths as Hydra, such an answer would stop them all. To be now a sensible man, by and by a fool, and presently a beast!" ~William Shakespeare, Othello
I got nothing on Blossoming Entity and Collossal Seaspawn.

I think "incandescing" is not a very good word. I like the word, but my issue with the name is that I don't think 'incandescing' exists... what's wrong with 'incandescent'? I like the abilities, too - they're original. Not much on the flavour texts - I like the first and third ones of Kowal's post. Tom

Okay, the final versions are up. If you have any thoughts (positive or negative) on the cards, names, or flavor texts, please let me know! I really want some feedback before I put on the 24 hour clock.

I don't like the Hydra having flying from a flavour perspective; the Lernean Hydra was a bloody big snake, but it was definitely stuck on the ground. So are all the other "hydra" cards, come to that. I'd definitely prefer a Dragon there.
Otherwise, good job.

Yeah, now that I think about it, hydra all have that whole counter-removal thing going (to represent their "heads" I supposed).
Changing it to dragon lets me reuse the flavor text I thought up for that phoenix card that we removed from the master list. How awesome!
Anyway, 24 hour clock.
