It looks like I might be at University of Chicago next year.  What's the Magic like over there?  And if anybody here goes to U of C, how easy is it to incorporate Magic into the college life?

When you say magic I assume u mean Type 1 and as far as that goesits kind of erratic. There used to be decent turn outs but some people quit or moved. I'll tried to reconstruct it and have found that lots of people in the Chicago area play Type 1 but don't know where to play, so I've informed as many of them as possible and hopely the Type 1 will greatly improve in the coming months. The Gaming Depot in Brookfield is the place to play Type 1 in Chicago with really good card stock, prize structure, and most competative players. The Gaming Depot is goin to have a 5-proxy Type 1 on either May 16th or 30th for a Workshop. I'll post a tournament announcement with complete info when the date is finalized.

May 16th for a workshop?  Where is this gaming depot?  Is it in Chicago proper or a suburb?  Sorry, I'm from downstate Illinois and the magic scene down here is abysmal (everyone plays Type II).  Been wanting to find a type I tournement but haven't heard of one within driving distance.

The Gaming Depot
3704 Grand Blvd, Brookfield, IL 60513

it's a southwest suburb, somewhat near I-55 and Harlem Ave.

I PM'd Manuel and he said it looks like it will be on May 30th because we can advertise better and give more people time to prepare.

Hannah Games in St Louis looks like it might start having monthly Type 1
April they had a sanctioned tourny for an Alpha Mox Sapphire. They had 22 players I believe.

Also, The Gathering Ground in St Louis has been holding Type 1 on the 3rd Saturday of the month. Still building players. Store Credit goes to Top 4, total Store Credit is whatever the amount of Entry Fees collected were.

That's a shame because I am busy the Memorial Day weekend and I was hoping to come by this time.  However, if more people can come by in the long weekend, then I am all for it that day.

I think I've mentioned before that right now I attend high school at the IMSA in Aurora, and next year will be attending IIT, so hopefully I'll be able to add another body to the ranks of Chicao T1ers.

I wouldn't call it abysmal, there are some things if you're not looking for a weekly occurence (well, kind of)

And you guys had to do it memorial day weekend?  Didn't you learn anything from Crazy Con 2 near T-day?  It was decently attended, but nowhere near the same level as the previous one.
Granted, that's not as important a family weekend, but alot of people do leave town for trips Sad
