I was reading the thread on Viridian Joiner in the T1 Open forums, and someone mentioned how Oshawa Stompy "didn't need a reason to make its Wastelands and Bazaars more useful". I thought about it and I think it would be interesting to have a card similar to the Joiner that works in an opposite way.

Seismic Savant
{1}{R}{R}
Creature -- Goblin Wizard
1/2
Lands you control have "{T}, {1}, Sacrifice a Land: Destroy target non-basic land."
A talented apprentice makes all things; a talented goblin breaks all things.

I based the card entirely off Joiner Adept (see the post for info).

I'm not really sure about anything except the ability... I wanted it to be green initially because it doesn't seem all that good in Red. I added {1} to the ability cost, but I'm not sure if that's enough to offset the benefit of having all your lands be Wastelands.

I think the natural comparison would be to Dust Bowl, which this thing blows out of the water. However, it IS counterable. This is really, really strong.

Another comparison would be Dwarven Miner, same casting cost (less colored) and costs more to activate but doesn't lose your own land.

Both Dust Bowl and Miner tap so they can only be used once a turn though.  This could theoretically wipe out several lands the turn it comes into play.

[card]Army Ants[/card]
Trading your land for their land has been done. Your version is much better than the ants, but I think it might be too good.

Hmm.. I actually have never heard of Army Ants, but go unknown Visions cards. Smile

Is there any way to make this card balanced without turning it into a horrible creature?

I was thinking of bringing the mana cost up, maybe at {2}? {1}{R} is also a possibility, but maybe I could bring the CC down to {R}{R}.
