Every once in a while, while reading through a post, I run into some abbreviation or acronym that I can't remember what it is suppose to be.  So, I thought I would post a thread that tried to help others. I have listed many of the abbreviations and acronyms that I have run into and what they are suppose to be. I have intentionally left out partial names that only have one option (ex. Fact = Fact or Fiction and Rector = Academy Rector). I have also separated them into sections for hopefully greater ease of use.

Finally someone does this for lazy people like me who can't remember everything without taking a few extra seconds in life to figure it out.  I was waiting for this to happen.  What about Yawg Win, or is that to self explanatory.  Very Happy

it's easy

Slavery : it's a deck created by Toad (The primer of the deck)
Zoo : it's an URG aggro deck
Bus : Germbus the new version of Keeper
Keeper : the best control deck in T1
Chains : Chains of Menphistopheles
Hulk : Hulk Smash, the vintage version of Tog.dec

first of all Keeper is not the best control deck in T1.
Germbus gets its name because of german dudes build it with this tmd admin guy(yeah i cant spell his nickname ;D)
most zoo versions I know base on 2 colors.
and Slavery gets its name from Mindslaver.

I also woul like to know where the name per example:Welder Mud comes from and why they called it like that..

welder mud evolved from MUD a (mono brown prison deck) that added welders. Hence, welder-mud (color of artifacts before they got all silver-y)

For non magic related netspeak, look them up on the Wikipedia. For instance, Pwned or Internet Acronyms. Thank you.

To the original author: great post. Good work.

It's Zherbus and he's not some admin guy, he's the site's owner and founder :-)

First of all: learn how to use punctuation. Also: these are hardly abbreviations, so they would not be included in this thread.

Good plan. But please add them to the original post so we don't have to scroll halfway through the thread. Some other suggestions:
- The letter cobination for Champions of Kamigawa has already been confirmed. Strangely, it's CHK.
- You could also add that LoA is sometimes used for Lord Of Atlantis :-)
- A possible interesting addition would be that TPS was meant to stand for either The Perfect Storm or Total Piece of Shit, depending on its performance.
- Maybe you could add frequently used team name abbreviations and stuff. Such as ISP and DTHT :-P
- CIP effects are also widely known as 187 effects.

That's how the inventor of the deck - Phantom Tape Worm - called his U/R-Fish build without any fish but with voidmage prodigy and especially grim lavamancer. The name shows the roots of the deck which is based on the former Gay Fish build.

Heh. While I obviously thought of that at first, I never wrote it down to see how silly it looks. One would have statements such as '<3 the COK' flying all over the place, and we really can't have that :-)

In fact, that'd end up as the abbreviation for the entire block. The puns would be awful.

I think a lot of people developped it independently as well. It was way too strong a card to be ignored. I don't think it has a single inventor. Smennen  was the first to publicly talk about it online (as far as I saw it), but I could be wrong, obviously.

Innovation--making bad decks, or replacing good cards in good decks with worse cards

Stagnation--having a stable metagame where it is clear which decks are good and which decks are bad.
