Premeditated Murder Sorcery   Kicker  Destroy target nonartifact, nonblack creature. If the kicker cost was paid, destroy target creature instead. It can't be regenerated. *** When black gets the ability to kill its own, it should be costly. Here, the cost is that less planning (ie: less mana) results in a "sloppier murder." There are targetting restrictions and the creature can be regenerated. On the other hand, for  {B}, you get the perfect murder. Is that a fair price? Is this card more interesting because it has kicker, or would it be better off just costing {B} and having the with-kicker ability only? |

I agree. As it's a sorcery, you can make it that bit better without it becoming strictly better than Terror.

I changed around the mana cost and the kicker cost, as suggested. On a side note, for some reason I'm a big fan of cards that cost {B}. They're typically not the best cards out there, but stuff like Rhystic Syphon, Sever Soul, and Fugue are such fun to play in casual environments. Similarly, I don't suppose this would see competetive play. After all, for just one more black mana, you could cast Visara the Dreadful and kill all the creatures you want. However, I suppose it makes a decent Uncommon - and certainly a nice card to pick up in any Limited game. |

I don't suppose this would see competetive play. After all, for just one more black mana, you could cast Visara the Dreadful and kill all the creatures you want. You forget that Terror has always been a card of some consideration in slower constructed formats (like Standard). True, yours doesn't kill a River Boa (unkickered!), but I think it's at least as powerful as Terror and in addition comes without the drawback to be complete deadweight against black/artifact decks. However, thumbs up for this very well designed card.  |
