Whisper of hate
B
Creature -- Soul
1/1
Fear. Whisper of hate can only be target of black spells or effects. At the beginning of your upkeep, if there are no other creatures in play, Whisper of hate deals 1 damage to you.

Rarity=Uncommon

The card "whispers" its purpose.

This is probably undercosted. Squirming Mass was a 1/1 fear (with no other abilities) and it costs {1}{B}. This has a strong anti-targetting effect that makes it significantly harder to kill, since most of the black removal spells stipulate non-black creatures. Its drawback is not particularly severe - keeping two creatures in play isn't hard and 1 life is a small price to play for a powerful creature like this one as a first turn play.

If you must keep this card as is, I don't think that this would be undercosted at {1}{B}{B}.

In general, I don't like its untargetability - that's a green or blue effect and I don't think there's any good reason to bleed it into black.

Removing the condition from the life loss makes the drawback a little more meaningful. {B} for a 1/1 Fear that causes a life loss during your upkeep is probably much closer to appropriate costing. It's a significantly worse creature than Carnophage, but Carnophage is pretty darned good!

Did you know that Red is the color or art and music and passion? Combine that with Green, the color of nature, spiritualism, and community and you get a hippie commune of drum circles, dreamcatchers, and recreational drug use. Let's see that win a Pro Tour.
