Just come up to Waterbury sometime. Ray's started giving away almost as much power as SCG.

Well, having personal responsibilities like a real job and actual bills, I cannot make it to Virginia to play in the uber-type 1 shin-dig. It's nice to have something the New Englanders can play at while everyone else loses to PTW and Triple_S (No, I mean it - you're all doomed) in Virginia.

Out of curiosity, do you know what the prize structure might look like for less than 32 players?

It turns out that I won't be able to bring my intimidating origami creature tokens and otherwise mediocre playing to Scarborough tomorrow, so instead I'll be coming to Salem for this tournament.  Unfortunately, that means I'll have to spend money I don't really have on cards.  Oh well.

Zherbus, thanks for the offer.  I've chosen a deck that I may be able to make with 10 proxies, but I think I'll still be a couple cards short (basically only in the sideboard).  I'm going to try to buy as many of the cheap cards as I can at my local store, but I'll PM you if I can't get ahold of something.

In return, assuming that you're playing some form of 4CC (and assuming you use a Decree), if you'd like, I can provide you with the best soldier creature token ever.  The intimidation of having to face origami creature tokens has won matches in the past.

Just 4 days left to preregister. We already have more people preregistered for this event than we did for the last tournament at this time (and over half the players preregistered last time). Be sure to preregister now. Looking forward to a great event!

This tournament was a lot of fun.  I didn't want to start a new thread for a report, but I will when I get back from Canada in two weeks, maybe.  Right now I've only got a few minutes, and then I have to pack.  So here's a really quick summary.

Round 1: GaT
This guy was threatening to be a rules lawyer by almost making me remove my entire deck from the game when I Consulted for "Belcher" instead of "Goblin Charbelcher."  He would have been right, but he decided not to be a dick, and he was cool about it.  I was more careful for the rest of the night.  He was also frequently pissed off that I randomly top decked powerful cards (even though powerful cards are like half the deck).

Sidenote:  After this round, he asked if I had any stuff to trade.  I hand him my box to look through.  After he's done looking through it, on his way to hand it back, he accidently drops the box into his lap and spills all the cards out all over the place.  He then did put them back in the box in random piles that he picked them up in (they had been in order before), apologized, and then realized that several stacks of cards had fallen into his backpack.  He even commented on how bad that must have looked.  I didn't accuse him of anything, nor am I doing so now.  It was just sketchy.

Round 2: Landstill
This kid didn't really know what my cards were.  He had to read almost all of them.  He also wasn't prepared for the matchup at all.  For example, in the first game he pitched Stifle to Force of Will my Charbelcher when I had Welder on the board.  Second game I had a really fast draw with a turn two win.

Round 3: UG Madness
Game 1: Null Rod.
Game 2: Null Rod.

Round 4: Not even as good as suicide black
I don't know how he was at 2-1.  The cards I saw, as far as I remember, were Chittering Rats, Erg Raiders, Sinkhole, and swamps.  He stole the first game by destroying my Bayou.  The next two games were over before thirty minutes was called.

Round 5: Stax
Game 1 he kicked my ass with multiple Spheres of Resistance.  Games two and three I made sure to mulligan into decent hands that included artifact destruction (I sided in Oxidize/Naturalize/Deconstruct).  The last two games his Damping Matrix and Triskelion weren't enough to stop my tons of artifact mana and a huge Yawgmoth's Will for the match.

Round 6: Trinispheres
ID.  But we played some games and he raped me.  Belcher can play around some hate, but not a Trinisphere.

So I was 4-1-1, which was good enough for 4th after 6 rounds.  Unfortunately, Trinishere.dec was 5th, so I was quickly eliminated, and I took fifth place overall.

Before the top 8, I got into a low limit crap rare Hold 'Em game with some other people and bad cards flew around the table.  That was fun.

I also finally met a bunch of TMDers, including Zherbus, who was awesome.  By some weird coincidence, I was sitting at the table ahead of him for I think four rounds of the six, but we never played.  He still signed my origami dragon, though.

Props:
Myriad games, for hosting
Everybody who signed my dragon.  The thing is covered in sharpie now.
Nataz, for signing the dragon's cack.
All the opponent's I beat who weren't pissed about my cheap-ass wins (which is every time a Belcher deck wins, period).

Slops:
Ben, for being sketchy.
