If you open the Rarity spreadsheet in Excel, you can change the rarity and set of cards in sealed. Gotta love those common arabian nights moxes....

I know this won't happen in a tournament, but if my opponent has Chaos Orb in his hand while I'm controlling his turn from a Mindslaver, who flips the card if I force him to play it and activate it?

Anyone know offhand another website that has it? I have tried several times to get it from the Underdogs one listed on the first page, but Im lucky to get over 15kb transfer rate which for 76MB or whatever it is takes just under 2 hours .

Yay! my first post here I loved this game, always trying to make a winning deck with the most bizarre cards. My favorite build: 4 Ali Baba 4 Bird Maiden 4 Dragon Whelp 4 Ball Lightning 3 Shivan Dragon 1 Ali From Cairo 2 Mana Flare 4 Lightning Bolt 4 Disintegrate 4 Fireball 1 Fork 1 Wheel of Fortune 1 Black Vise 1 Strip Mine 4 Factories 1 Mox 1 Lotus 16 Mountain Easy as that. I also had a B/W deck which worked excellent and revolved around the Astral card Necropolis of Azar, using the White and Black Knights and Wrath's, and besides that I played a Time Vault deck once with good succes but unfortunately I can't remember the decklist.. too long ago. If anyone is interested though, I still have both CD-rom's with the original booklets and boxes and all lying at home

As this game is written with only cards prior to Fallen Empires (considering that all base sets are nothing more than reprints), I dug out Weissman's "original" decklist for The Deck and made some minor modifications to it. I'm currently trying to build it in the actual GAME but I've tested it out in the Deck Builder and so far I'm doing pretty good with it, losing maybe 10% of the time overall.
The Deck 1995, edited for Shandalar
Blue (11) 4 Ancestral Recall 1 Time Walk 1 Timetwister 1 Braingeyser 4 Counterspell
White (12) 4 Swords to Plowshares 4 Disenchant 2 Moat 2 Serra Angel
Black (2) 1 Demonic Tutor 1 Mind Twist
Red (2) 2 Fireball
Green (1) 1 Regrowth
Artifact (4) 1 Ivory Tower 2 Disrupting Scepter 1 Jayemdae Tome
Mana (28) 1 Black Lotus 1 Mox Sapphire 1 Mox Pearl 1 Mox Jet 1 Mox Ruby 1 Mox Emerald 1 Sol Ring 1 Library of Alexandria 2 Strip Mine 3 City of Brass 1 Plateau 1 Underground Sea 2 Volcanic Island 4 Tundra 3 Plains 4 Island
(The original listing for The Deck had 4 Mana Drain, 2 Counterspell, 1 Recall, 1 Ancestral, and 2 Red Elemental Blasts. I changed two Mana Drains for Counterspell, the other two Mana Drains and the Recall for Ancestral, and the two REB's for Fireballs. The Deck kicks ass this way!)
The uber-simple way to play this deck is this: Moat controls the ground, swing with Serra, and the rest is simply control and card-drawing. Even just doing this it's killer to play.
Then I went back to the Deck Editor and built it again as a two-colour deck - Blue/White, of course - and my first draft is as follows:
White: 2 Serra Angel 2 Moat 1 Balance 4 Disenchant 4 Swords to Plowshares
Blue: 3 Timetwister 2 Time Walk 4 Counterspell 4 Ancestral Recall
Artifacts: 1 Ivory Tower 1 Jayemdae Tome 2 Disrupting Scepter 2 Aladdin's Ring
Mana: 2 Black Lotus 2 Mox Pearl 2 Mox Sapphire 2 Sol Ring 4 Plains 4 Island 4 Tundra 3 City of Brass 2 Strip Mine 3 Library of Alexandria
By the way, after having tested it out in the actual game, I find that multiple Black Lotus just tend to get in the way, so I cut them down to 2, and that seems to be about right most of the time for a "normal" deck.

Well, I figured this might be useful.. I finally have an HTML list of all the cards in the game. Go to http://www3.sympatico.ca/eleibrock/Shandalar/Shandalar.htm and you will have a card list. Click on any card to get taken to a picture of that card. There's also a link to an Astral cards "spoiler" and a list of some of the major changes to take into account when playing Shandalar as far as RULES are concerned. (There's probably some I missed but I was looking for the more important ones.)

Man...I'm a nerd, I have the official strategy guide for Shandalar. Anyways, the AI difficulties are eased by playing the game on its hardest difficulty of a fast compy. That makes the comp make better decisions and is able to choose from a wider range of decisions.
Is anyone here a l33t hacker and can hack up the game to put in Drains? -Slay

I guess you are not, since that would require a serious program rewrite to include it. Well... maybe not a complete, but it's safe to say it's a bitch to code.

Open one of your saved deck files and replace the three digit number of one of the cards in the deck with .720 and it will replace the card with the image of Mana Drain. So close and yet so far
