I was wondering if anyone had any spare invites for a Gmail account. ( http://www.gmail.com) If so, I would be eternally greatful if you sent an invitation to th3grimreaper@hotNOSPAMPLZmail.com (Remove spam prevention) If you don't know what Gmail is, its google's new email creation. How do these people get invites anyway? Did they have to sign up to be part of the beta test or did they just get spammed? Now they have fixed the compatibility issues with Mac, I am excited to see it get released. Does anyone have a rough idea when that will be as well?

Some people think that it's related to the number of days you've had your account, but I can't comfirm it. I know i'm kind of new here but hey there is no harm in trying. If u have one to spare send me one too (PM me) . Also just an heads up. Its been circulating around the net that hotmail and yahoo accounts have been bouncing GMail invites  . So just in case if you have an alternative mail to any of these (hotmail or yahoo) use that one instead. Best of luck |

I just got an account from a friend... It usually takes about a week to get a few new invites...
Anyway, if you are really in need of on, check ebay. They are currently selling for ~$3. (used to be $100's of dollars when they first came out)
Many of the good names are taken, but there are still many many many names available. I am not sure when google will roll this out for free-- but sometime in the coming months.
In the mean time, Yahoo offers email accounts with 100MB for free now, and up to 2GB with pop/smtp access for $20 a year. (not a bad deal if you want to use outloook)
Anyway, if I stumble upon a grip of gmail invites, I will surely send out to those requestors. (please edit your original post if you receive an invite in the mean time)

Characters?) Even besides the 1gig thing, the "conversation" organizational feature and the ability to google your own emails is pretty... googleriffic. |

I was wondering how you get these invites to give out? From what I understand google staff was given accounts to start the beta. After 2-4 days of getting an account you are given 6 invites. Those people get accounts and then in 3-7 days they can give out accounts... I think your invites regenerate after so much time but I have had my account only about a week to know how fast you get more invites. SH |

I'm not to worried about privacy issues with gmail, or google in general. A lot of the stuff they're doing makes sense, when you look at it from a less biased perspective. |

If any of the cool people (the ones with invites) want to send me one, I'd be grateful. The e-mail account I have from school isn't working too well over dialup -- I can't connect to the outgoing mail server -- so I'd really like to have an account I can send mail from.
