For those of you who don't know Type 4, a detailed explanation by Wizards can be found here: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=mtgcom/feature/198

I am currently in the process of constructing a Type 4 drafting cardpool.
I was wondering what kind of cards people are using in their type 4 draft pools. I am considering using the same one wizards posted on their page, but obviously there are more cards out there.

If anyone could post and explain some key cards they use in type 4, I'd be extremely interested. Also, full lists of all the cards would be uber-sweet Smile.

Does anyone have any tips for making a balanced cardpool? Most things are obvious though (X spells, etc.)

I'm having a hard time finding people to donate cards to my pool around here, most people don't even want to donate their garbage dollar rares. Oh well, I just won't let them play when i finish it  Twisted Evil .

All and any help regarding type 4 would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

The guy that wrote that article is none other than TMD's own Stephen Menendian, better known to some as Smmenen.

The list at the bottom of the article gives a fairly good idea of what kind of stuff you should be using.  My stack if only a handful of cards different from Steve's, at the moment.

 Wow that's really cool! I didn't know other people besides Wizards employees were allowed to right for mtg.com. Props to Smmenen for righting such an awesome article.
(BTW there are a lot of spelling errors in the card names Wink)

Yeah, they hire freelancers sometimes. Smmenen should have another article up sometime this summer.

I only skimmed the list when I read the article, but looking closely, wow are there mad errors. Bosh, Golem Legend, Overwhelming Forces, Redirect Damage, and Forbid twice are the most hilarious errors, but there're tons of misspelled cardnames.

Well, some things are listed twice for multiple purposes.  Mystic Snake for example is a counter and a utility creature.

EDIT:  Also, Overwhelming Forces is a P3K card.

EDIT 2:  I should really refresh to see if someone's already said what I'm saying.  h8.

Overwhelming Forces isn't a mistake, it's just a Portal Three Kingdoms card that isn't in the M:TG picture database.  But yeah, gotta love the Bosh, Golem Legend.  Smile
