Shapechange
1UUU
Enchant Creature

Imprint - UU: Search your library for a creature card, reveal it, then remove it from the game.  Then shuffle your library.

0: Choose a creature card imprinted on Shapechange.  Enchanted creature becomes a copy of that creature.  You may end this ability at any time.

I miss the challenge to break this card as most other printed shapeshifters (exc. for Morpling) have given in the past. Your enchantment just lets you pay 1UUU and then tutor up any one monster you fed your library with for just UU. You even get to change between those shapes later for free.

Also I thought, imprint was an artifact-only-mechanic. Although till today I haven't seen a plausible reason to leave it at that, I've always pointed that original intent out. Maybe you could turn your card into an equipment.

Suggestions: You could turn the tutor part into an [Card]Intuition[/Card]-like effect: "Search your library for three creature cards and reveal them. An opponent chooses one. Remove that card from the game and shuffle the rest into your library. The removed card is imprinted on this artifact." Hm, that's a bit wordy now... Confused

This effect is simply too powerful. Consider Survival of the Fittest, an immensely powerful tutor effect that already exists.

1. Survival of the Fittest is green, the colour most often associated with creatures. Your card is blue, the colour least associated with creatures.

2. Survival of the Fittest requires a mana payment and the discard of a creature. Your card requires only a mana payment.

3. Survival of the Fittest fetches the card to your hand. This, for all intents and purposes, fetches the card directly to play and essentially gives it haste.

The only way in which this is worse than Survival of the Fittest is the massive card disadvantage, if this gets removed from play.

Did you know that Red is the color or art and music and passion? Combine that with Green, the color of nature, spiritualism, and community and you get a hippie commune of drum circles, dreamcatchers, and recreational drug use. Let's see that win a Pro Tour.

On top of what has already been said, it avoids comes into play effects, so abuses phyrexian dreadnought and other similar creatures.

Volrath's Shapeshifter broke Survival and got it banned in extended. This is both cards in one. :<

You're right.  I need to think of something a bit less, um, retarded.

Edit: On second thought, I can't think of anything.  Just close the topic.
