Bargain, I've found, was always too expensive for me to consistently cast. Brainstorms pretty much are just their normal crappy selves in here. But, sometimes you just have to run chaff for the whole heavy blue splash to be worthwhile.

Also, you don't have living wish.

The missing Living Wish is a mistake on my part.  I don't have my deck with me right now, so I can't see what they're in for.  Just know that there are still two in my build, and I'm considering a third because of the lower Welder and Xantid counts.

i suppose bayous would be the better land to leave- but then, dropping tropicals would only leave you with (loti, LED, 2x mox, petal, 4x sphere = 9) as opposed to (everything mentioned, 4x grant, 1x trops = 14) and sometimes those 14 is even short!

If you're playing one land, the one land absolutely has to be Bayou, and there is no argument here.  You need to be able to cast Rituals, as they provide your best on color mana boost other than Lotus/LED.

Excuse me, but the only blue cards in your deck are tutor / draw and other FOWs. Unless you don't count brainstorm as draw.

You can toss a BS or a tutor and then use something else to refill your hand.  If you get a hand of 5 mana, Force and a blue tutor/BS, you should toss it back anyway, because there's no business in there.

Bargain eats up too much colored mana.  You'd find yourself dropping it, getting it countered, and wasting a lot of colored mana to do so.

I used 4 Brainstorms because I hate Lim-Duls vault with a passion in Belcher. It is one of the single most inconsistant cards in an already inconsistant deck, and Brainstorms work just fine.

Instead of just dismissing the card with a one-line unfounded statement, could you explain how a cheap, instant-speed tutor that lets you set up your next five cards causes inconsistency?

I haven't had major issues with 2 Land Blecher choking on Lands when trying to go off, and even if I did I think that Windfall and Brainstorms would be worth the risk.

Neither have I.  I don't often accept the risk of activating Belcher with both land still in the deck, but if you can get one land out of the way you're probably fine.  If you can't get one land out of the way, you probably shouldn't have kept the hand.  Notice, though, that I didn't cut Windfall in the one land version.  It's just too powerful.

@Lim-Duls Vault, I have extreme difficulty finding both Black and Blue Mana to cast Vault and it is not a play that leads to resolving Belcher on the same turn. Brainstorm is easier to support, so I went with it instead.

Edit: Sorry, I thought you cut a D7 when you cut the Trop.

Has anybody tried Bargain as Potence #2?

i use bargain in mine.  it might be difficult to cast sometimes, but the simple truth still remains- it's an "i win now" card when you play it.  i've played it in IRL tourneys, layed it down first turn and won right there or on the second turn.

This maybe slightly of track and I may have gone to far, but I think somethings wrong.

One. The natural build is 4 colour with 1 or 2 land.
Two. We Need to win Now. which jars with most mana stabalizing cards
Three. Nullrod, Trinisphere, Sphere of Resistance.

So I started cutting colours, I.e. red, the welders are for toasties anyway, they are supposed to draw the fire, It just rings true with the bop arguement, you have to wait a turn before lift off if it ever happens. So they were boarded.

Wheel of Fortune is obviously logic defying to drop it, but I percieved that the mana balance needed was stopping me playing Yawgmoths Bargain, therefore its a brken card for another.

This is probably where I should of stopped and look at what I had done, but I kept going. How dropable is blue ??

I think it comes down to wether you rely on tinker or not. Im 50/50 on whether droping blue anyway, im posting a 2 colour version to force the idea rather than just some tweeks.

Timetwister was a straight swap for necro, again as now the manabase is more suited to handling it.

Two colours means that Chromatic Sphere is surpless to requirements, which gives me slots for some disruption, 4 Duress, better when I only run 1 draw 7, 3 Xantid Swarms (they were in my board) and 3 Oxidize as Im still thinking about the ox slots.

The one thing im wary of is the 3 nights whispers, Necro and Bargain, combined lifeloss verses aggro, but thats whats the sideboard is for.

Anyway less rambling more deck.
