I have played a recycle / kobold based deck in a few tourneys the last year, but I failed to reach top 8 with a 3-3 and a 1-5 record. I am still trying to get recycle into a top-8 finish though. For the upcoming castricum tourny, I have dropped the overrun / kobolds win condition and I am planning on running a more resilient gaea's cradle / recycle / free artifact creature based tendrils deck. The goal of the deck is to pop out a recycle or another insane draw engine out ASAP. If either bargain or recycle resolves, it is practically game over for the opponent.  Some typical card choices are mentioned below the decklist:

Recycle.Pile

Da Critterz: 12
4 Phyrexian Walker
4 Ornithopter
4 Shield Sphere

Da Trickz: 12
4 Cabal Therapy
2 Tendrills of Agony
1 Crop Rotation
1 Time Walk
1 Vampiric Tutor
1 Yawgmoth's Will
1 Demonic Tutor
1 Tinker

Da drawz: 13
1 Future Sight
1 Frantic Search
1 Yawgmoth's Bargain
1 Necropotence
1 Ancestral Recall
1 Windfall
1 Memory Jar
1 Wheel of Fortune
1 Timetwister
4 Recycle

Da Manaz: 8
2 City of Brass
2 Undiscovered Paradise
1 Tolarian Academy
3 Gaea's Cradle

Da Brokenz: 15
1 Black Lotus
1 Lotus Petal
1 Mox Sapphire
1 Mox Ruby
1 Mox Pearl
1 Mox Jet
1 Mox Emerald
1 Sol Ring
1 Mana Crypt
1 Mana Vault
4 Dark Ritual
1 Lions Eye Diamond

Da Sideboardz:
4 Naturalize
4 Xantid Swarm
4 Phyrexian Negator
1 Hurkyls Recall
1 Abeyance
1 Chain of Vapor

As I dont expect a heavy control metagame in castricum, the swarms are in the sideboard, with the cabal therapy's maindeck. If I spot a load of control during scouting, I will switch them from main to SB and back.

I am thinking of using only 3 cradles. Although they create massive amounts of mana, a 2nd cradle in hand is a dead card, and I prefer the spot for some other fast mana. With all the 3 CC draw 7's around, a cradle is bound to pop up quite soon.

The lack of fastbond may seem a little disturbing, and I still may try it, but I am still wondering where to put it. Not to forget that with only 8 lands, where 3 of them are of the same  legendary name, the power of fastbond decreases rapidly.

The Undiscovered Paradises are there to prevent me from locking myself in when someone is so kind to mind twist me with a recycle on the board, or at least provide me a free card draw each round when a recycle is out.

Shield Sphere is added instead of kobolds because of the synergy with Tolarian Academy, and that I get some nice early free blockers against goblin.dec or random green.dec.

Let's see if we can improve this deck a little more, so I can beat Morefling's parfait in the last round this time, instead of losing 2-1 as a result of drawing an overrun one turn too late...

While I don't totally understand your build, with the original Kobold concept, SkullClamp would make a nice draw engine, yes?

They block as well as your other 0 mana chumpers, but are more clampable.

I agree that kobold/skullclamp is a nice drawengine, but recycle is so much more fun to play compared to skullclamp, so I prefer to play a recycle based draw engine.

My build is based around the following:

Using cradles/tolarian and the 0 CC critters combined with all the other fast mana artifacts I want to cast one of the 13 massive draw spells. Turn 1 draw 7's and turn 2 bargain or recycle are usual. The amount of card drawing that will result from the 21 free cards in this deck combined with recycle is awesome. If I resolve a draw 7 with a recycle in play, I usually can draw through my entire deck without any problem.

Frantic search and crop rotation usually yield me insane amounts of mana, with all the artifact critters in play.

Cabal therapy is there to stunt the opponents development, and they are very good with their flashback when a recycle is out. Unless I see a large threat in my opponents hand after normally casting it, I dont flashback it untill recycle is out. With recycle out it also becomes a 2 for 1, for only B, which is quite nice too Smile

First I played concordant crossroads / 16 critters / overrun as the kill, but that was too unstable vs control after a draw 7, so I replaced the win with tendrills, which is much safer.
