Crucible of Worlds and Wild Mongrel

If I have a Wild Mongrel in play and a Crucible of Worlds and a land in my graveyard, can I discard the land in my graveyard to the mongrel a million times and attack?  It's not clear to me how far this "as though it was in your hand" goes.

You can PLAY it as though it was in your hand. That's it. You can't discard it, cycle it, or anything like that.

It's the same with Yawgmoth's Will.
