Well I took a last min chance on a eBay auction for a good price on two drains on a seller with low feed back. It seems to come back and bit me in the butt. I have all ready sent payment via paypal on the July 30th. I still have yet to receive the cards and have tried to contact the seller several times with no replies. It looks like with paypals policy I will be out 75 bucks out of the 180 I paid.

This is the first auction I have ever been ripped. I'm hoping this guy is just lazy and was late putting the cards in the mail. Has anyone dealt with getting ripped off on eBay before? Any suggestions or tips?

You should ask the guy whether he shipped.

Otherwise, if you used the credit card to paypal, you probably have buyer's protection from them.

Otherwise... there's not much they can do. Ebay is better than paypal at resolving those.

Yeah, with ebay you should be able to get back all but $25.

Some people do take vacations (i've had a few who shipped out and the day after went away for 2 weeks) and you won't always get your package like 4 days after you pay for it either...

Be persistent but polite with emails.  Sometimes sellers take forever, especially the less professional ones.

A lot of Magic player are notoriously lazy.   Smile
It's only been a week so you could still be all right.  Is the seller communicating at all?  If they are communicating, that's a very positive sign.  Most rippers won't respond once they take your money.

I ordered a couple Drains last year on ebay.  Low feedback, but good percentage.  The seller was very flaky, but I eventually got the product.  Took 3-4 weeks.

Be mindful that you are limited in the amount of time you have to file a claim.  I think it is capped at 90 days.

kinda reminds me about the thread below this about trading in type one.  Yeah it's been a month and the guy (Alexthemaster from the Netherlands) still won't email back or send cards.  I sent him $300 in cards and paid $28 to ship it there.  I lost out big time unless I can get the police involved.  Kinda confused on what to do.

Maybe if you listened to us the first time you wouldn't be out of over 300?

Yes you are right.  However it was already too late by the time we discussed doing a third party.  I definitley won't be making the same mistake any time soon.  I just hope that with all the other people that he's ripped off we can do something about it.

you can also contact the credit card company about it.  You can file for a chargeback with them to get the full amount back.  It happened to me when buying an Ancestral but I got all the cash back.

Well guess what just arrived today in the mail shipped priority first class, insured with signature?

2 Mana Drains.

Well after sending the guy emails threatening paypal with draw and reporting it a fraud. Then I got the guys phone number from ebay and started calling him and leaving messages that the money was sent and I have not received any communication from him please contact me ASAP with you shipping service and shipped date.

He shipped the cards on the 9th after my fist phone call. Jerk had them in sleeves but with no top loaders or hard cases. If the package would have got bent too much the cards would have easily creased.

He still hasn't given me feed back so now I need to figure out how to give him neutral or bad feed back with out him hitting me with bad feedback. May just have to let it slide, I'm just happy to not be out the money or cards!

Thanks for your suggestions,
