Unlimited Proxies

Entry fee $15

The Soldiery Inc - Northwest
4256 North High Street, Columbus, OH 43214

Deck Registration begins at Noon and ends at 12:30.

I WILL BE THE HEAD JUDGE AND WILL NOT BE PLAYING.

If you want to meet lots of the Gencon Top 8ers - Michael Simester, myself, and Kevin Cron will be there!  Show up and compete for a Mox.  Second place will be pack of Italian Legends boosters.

There will be MUCH T4 going on.  If you are a little tired of the very large convention season and want something a little more crazy and fun without the intensity, show up and have some fun.

So I take it that we can count on the Ohio chapter of Mean Deck being absent from TMD Champs.

Funny, I always thought you guys couldn't resist Power 9 tournaments...

We want to go, but are sick of driving atm.  Your tournament is going to rock, so hopefully everyone else will represent for us.

I really hope that some of us from Pittsburgh will be able to make it out there. I'll have to see where classwork takes me in the next month.

Do you know if Paul M. is planning on coming out there for this tourney?

Once I get some licence action, I might actually drive down for one of these... just to chill with the savage meandeckers. Also, Paul M. is my new hero- I had him sign a bottle of Tabasco Sauce at GenCon, just because.

I'll make an effort to go to this one.  Hell, Paul M. should drive down with me since I live in MI too and more people = better car ride.

Not bad at all. That leaves you and Carl to represent.

Of course, we could always just bust out the JP clone if you can't...

Paul Mastriano is in Pitt.

If Windfall comes, that will be 1/2 of the Gencon Top 8 to play T4 with!  Who wouldn't do that?! Very Happy

Come hang out and sling some cards.  We all want a little relief from the big tournaments of the season and this is your chance to experiement a bit and shoot the breeze with some of the strongest players in the format.  If you are in Ohio, Mi, Indiana, W.V. or Penn you should come!

People who are coming - since we aren't sanctioned, we can use Kamigawa or even the new restricted list if you want.  How do you feel about that?

I'm hoping to make, but I can't commit 100% just yet, I need to see how things pan out.  If I am able to make it, I'd be phsyched to see how the new B/R list plays out.

I'm in the same boat as LoA. I'll have to see how school is playing out, also. But I'm going to do my best to make it.

Um, you better use the new restricted list. It goes into effect the 20th.

I'm not going, but I'd say no on Kamigawa.

When you have unlimited proxies, it's OK having a brand-new set.

I'll disagree. Since the set is so new, a lot of players won't know/recognise a lot of the cards, especially not if they are proxies. It will just cause massive delays and hard work for the judging staff.

I'm the judging staff so I think using Kamigawa is not a problem so long as I update the oracle text on the cards on my laptop.

If you're allowing proxies at all they should be written on a basic land with the text of the card anyways.  So allowing Kamigawa shouldn't be a problem.  Don't hate on the CoK brotha.

Unfortunately, I've just found out that I have to preform at school that day. So I won't be coming. Now I've got my sights on SCG Chicago to meet some TMD people.

That's really dissapointing.  I hope LOA and Hyperion can still make it.  It going to be alot of fun with T4 and meeting all the other peeps that you didn't get to meet at gencon!

Update:

Second place will include Italian Legends packs!!!

There will be much type four - so make sure you can stick around afterward if you can.

I will be judging at a fairly high level rules enforcement.  I haven't decided which yet, but I will let you know soon.

Sorry to double post, but the first post was an answer and the second one is a question:

Will CHK indeed be legal?  If so, does anyone know where I might be able to scan some proxies?

You can write the card text OR scan proxies.

CHK WILL be legal on the premise that the whole tournament will be more fun that way.  Go nuts and experiment.

Wizards should have a spoiler up after the Pre-release and I'm sure that SCG will have card scans up afterward.

If you think you might have traffic troubles, PM me and I'll give you my cell number.  That way we won't start without you or give you additional time for the round.
