The discussion is to discover new cards before they become big. Look at crucible it was so over looked, but as of now its one of the hottest cards.

Yeah, but Crucible is aggressively costed and especially symbiotic with Mishra's Workshop. Not to mention that it also opens a new path for a popular lock (mana denial).

Time Stop is interesting and powerful, but a tiny bit too situational and about 2 mana too expensive to be a truly powerful card in type one. In block and type two, though, it could be ok, cuz' a time walk is good there, even when it costs 6. I could be wrong, and I'm no professional at judging cards before they make their impact, but I think Time Stop is sub-par for tournament level Vintage.

guess what, if the game is at all close, a correctly played counterspell is the same as a time stop. By evaluating your opponent's gameplan correctly, you can remove the key spell that would put you out of contention, anything else is superfluous.

Crucible costs 3 and wins games, this cost double and doesn't.  There is a difference.

I have to agree that this is overcosted trash.  A six mana spell should win you the game or cause a drastic change in the game-state (think Upheaval).  This card doesn't do that.  It's a great counterspell and a neat effect, it's just not six-mana good.  This card reminds me a lot of Spelljack, and I predict it'll get played about the same amount.

I think that's a pretty close comparison, except that Time Stop is nearly a time walk (that costs 3 times as much). Either way, the card isn't good enough unless you don't have to pay the mana cost.

As much as I hate posting on this thread, due to the sheer volume of stupidity posted so far, I cannot fight the urge.  I'm not seeing this being played because it overall effect is not much stronger than a counterspell that can be used as a stifle.  The cc is just huge.

I can't see this being played in type 1 at all... it justs costs too much...
However in type 2 it will come in from the board against March/Obliterate as its the only way for control to deal with an uncounterable spell at the moment
