From Carl's Cell Phone:
Round one just finished.
Zherbus drew and he is playing 4cc. Carl Winter won round one with LongDeath.
There is lots of 4cc, Fish, and some Dragon.

I have mad updates
Carl is 2-0 with LongDeath Zherbus is 1-0-1 with 4cc Kerz is 1-1 with Dragon
Kowal is?? playing mono blue control. There was a fuck up with the pairing system so they are only now starting round 3.
EDIT: Kerz and Zherbus told me they don't see any control slaver or any Workshops.
Go Meandeck!

Kerz and Zherbus told me they don't see any control slaver or any Workshops. So I kept Z up until 3am last night so that we could solve the Control Slaver matchup and all that ended up doing was making him more tired for the tournament?

That sounds dirty Saucy.
I should mention that there are 187 players!
A guy named russ playing SmmenenBlue is 2-0.

Yeah, you know how all the kids say "Solving the Control Slaver matchup" now when what they really mean is "Having hot hot man sex". Damn kids.
Seriously, 187 players? Could a group of Magic players that size be referred to as a "murder of nerds"?

JP lost to Dragon. He is 1-1-1. He lost to fish, drew with r/g, and lost to Dragon becuase he lost the die roll.
Rich Shay is 3-0
There is a decent amount of Control Slaver - a ton at the low tables. A decent amount of Dragon. More Dragon than Fish or mono blue. Kowal was 3-0 with mono blue.
Virtually no Tendrils combo except for Carl and a few random TPS. Grandquister is 3-0 Carl is 3-0 and he played against 4cc, goblins and Dragon.
Zherbus is in his match against the Method. They are in game three.
Steve (zherbus) has gone to time every round!
jp "my deck is so awsome i woudln't want to play anything else" "some fish will sneak into top 8 becuase there is so much goblin welder around. Some control slaver for the same reason, other than that it will up in the air, except for maybe a few dragon."

JP lost to Dragon. He is 1-1-1. He lost to fish, drew with r/g, and lost to Dragon becuase he lost the die roll Good updates, Steve. A quick question for you, though; if JP lost, tied, and lost, wouldn't he be 0-2-1 instead of 1-1-1? Is he playing 3 color Tog or what?

Round 6 update
Carl Winter is 6-0 baby and a lock for top 16 and probably first seed with LongDeath. Carl lost 40 minute game one to UG Madness but then won on turn 1 and turn 2 in the subsequent games.
Zherbus is 4-1-1!
Go Meandeck!!
Rich Shay is supposedly 5-1.
Kowal is either 4-2 or 5-1

I just got back and I am super tired. There was a lot of Welders and big artifacts. Steve the people that did take the deck Mono U deck did really well. I came with a guy that Jacob introduced me to and has never played a Vintage event before, proxied up the Mono-U deck and when 4-2. He didn't even have a Lotus or a 4th Drain! So far I put my money on GI or Rich, both are playing really well. GI is playing a GAT deck with some UBER kick ass tech. I met so many people it was insane! JP, GI, Eastman, Zherbus, and TONS of other people. It was great. Plus video is coming!

Carl is playing his roughest matchup - Tog by the Brass man. Carl lost game one but has Necro game 2, and will presumably win.
I played the brass man with Longdeath when he played Tog last waterbury and i 2-0ed him.
