Ok, here's the deal.....I'll be going up to Eugene's This Sunday to work out the date. I think it'll be the 23rd. I'm not sure when states is, but It's either the weekend of the 23rd, or the weekend after. I know T1>T2, but the stakes are much higher in T2, meaning people like me, will probably be playing in states if the two events were held on the same date.

Also, how does this sound:

5 Proxies, $.25 more each proxy beyond the fifth. This will enusre we get prizes for all of Top 4. Plus, I hate to see Eugene lose money in these tourneys.

We'd probably choose States over T1. But the next weekend is cool still  and Clay can make it, too.

Holding a tournament the same weekend as states or any other large event isnt an option so the weekend of the 23rd is out.

If we wanna try and hold this in October it looks like our options are October 16 or 30.  November 13 or 20 are probably the best options for that month.  This is of course dependant on what Eugene has going of course.  If y'all could PM me the date that best works for you that'd be great, and I'll talk to Eugene this week sometime.

I suspect that the further away from Halloween we make it the better the turnout will be due to less people getting into drunken stupor mode.  But we run the risk of stepping on people's lame attempts to break standard open (Play Glimpse of Nature/Fecudity Affinity!) on the weekend before States.  So we're contending with 2 evils: Pre-Halloween party Booze-training and pre-states testing.  Which do you think is more likely to cause less people to show up?  Oh, and what time are we going to be starting this time?  I like to get things going earlier.

Shawn

EDIT:  I just got off the phone with Eugene and he says that he had to Cancel a VS Qualifier at his store due to States, so He has to reschedule that for some point in October.  I floated the ideas of the 16th and 30th to him, and discussion with him leads me to think that the VS Qual is likely to fall later rather than sooner as Eugene is probably not wanting to step on States testing either.  But who knows, maybe he doesn't care about all that tripe and He'll have the VS Qual on the week of the 16th.  Who knows.
