I've been wanting to host a tournament myself for a while, and I finally came across the means to do it! And since I try to be cool, and ten proxy is the new cool, well color me with ten proxies!

1: MOX JET!
2: TBD
3: TBD
4: TBD

Don't worry about the prize structure guys, 100% of all money that comes in from entry will go to Prizes! Oh yeah-- and there will be sweet side events to the tune of 8 man single elimination winner to recieve some tottally awesome things like either a drain, or a mask, or some other awesome hundred dollar prize. Even cheap events for other cool prizes are things I can handle, all that matters is I give 100% prize payout.

How much does this shit cost you wonder?

Main Event: 15 bucks.
Side Events: 15 or 5 bucks.

So like-- we are talking 15 bucks for a tournament where a real mox (as in not green or white) is being put on the line! Which reminds me-- if I get enough dudes, I will certainly not hesitate to make second a piece of power. This is me showing you guys that Tog can deliver.

So where the hell is this!?!

Auburn, MA
Yankee Drummer Inn, Best Western Route 12!

What else do I need to know?

Not much, you have all the information now HOWEVER... I would like to take this time to call Aaron Kerzner to my tournament to play for our grudge match championships in MY home turf. I know that it won't be tournament play, but Kerzer is doesn't matter, I have been wanting to demolish you for months to prove to the world that I am just better than your scrub ass. Kerz-- I AM CALLING YOU OUT! (You probably won't come anyway.)

So what about Andystok?

Yeah, so obviously he is funding this expedition-- but that doesn't mean anything other than that. Will he be there? No. Will there be anything even releatively sneaky going on? No. This is supposed to be me taking control, and showing that man how you are supposed to do this-- so show up, and help me prove to him that Mykeatog > Andystok!

What should I bring?

Aside form yourself, your play skill, and your deck, you should also bring any cards that you have been looking to sell-- cause I am looking to buy them, and someone bring a broom; cause someone is going to help clean up Kerz after I ruin him.

So who is coming with me? Let the trash talking begin! Unless, heh... you don't have the balls.

Wow! Mykeatog is totally cool, as is taking his mox in tournament play - especially a mox jet~!! I can't wait - this should be a blast. We can play poker, t4, and HOT DICE too.

Hopefully a large portion of the NE crew can make this a memorable day.

I know i'm ready to kick some ass.

The Answers to some questions I have been getting...

Who is the judge at this event?
The one and only Chris "Moobius" Kitzmiller! He judges at most of the huge Boston prereleases, and you may know him from Waterbury judging!

Food Situation?
I am not going to lie; I have no idea. However, I do have the ability to look at a phone book, and charge a reasonable price for Pizza. So the absolute worst case scenario is some pizza from the local pizza joint!

How many proxies exactly?
This thread says 10, there is a flyer that says 5... it is TEN! I want everyone who wants to play to be able too!

What is the prize support exactly?
First of all.. the Mox Jet is GARUNTEED. If only 2 people show up, they can play for it. However, as soon as enough guys are reached there will begin to be added prizes! Let's go over the scenario now...

20 People - First place only Unlimited MOX JET
24 People - Second Place Italian Mana Drain
27 People - Third/Fourth 1 Italian Legends Pack
31 People - Second Place Library of Alexandria, Third/Fourth 1 Italian Legends Pack
40 People - Second Place Unlimited Mox Pearl, Third/Fourth 1 Italian Legends packs
45 People - Third/Fourth Bezerks!

So as you can see, the more people that show up the more I can give away! Obviously if more show up, there will be more prizes, and if a number between shows up a prize somewhere inbetween will be given out.

A full compliment of Hadley guys have commited to this; is there anyone out there who wants to come and show my teammates why we need to work harder? We have only a couple days left; I've heard some interesting names putting there names in the hat as people who are going to show up. I'm expecting a great time.

What I was wondering about, was if I brought a stereo and some jammin' beats if that would be cool with everyone. I know that you need to concentrate in some of these matches, so that is why I am asking you guys; beats or no?

Mike- Thanks. This is an EXCELLENT way to run a tournament. There havn't been many tournaments run in this manner lateley, and I'm glad you're reverting to a good structure. This will prevent bitching about price, and it will also prevent you losing money. Everybody wins.

I took this one, with Bombs over Baghdad.  I destroyed the games two and three of the finals because Timetwister and Wheel of Fortune are the best cards, EVER.  I'll write a report when I'm less lazy.

Congrats Kowal.  I'm sure many people are interested how the deck ran.  My crew and I were heading for the tourney today when we got in an hour traffic delay in LENOX of all places and just were not able to make it in time.  What was the attendance?

31 people, and an ass ton of workshops.  There was some fish, some dragon, and three control slavers.  The field looked pretty diverse, but the winners bracket was almost entirely aggro.  Myself, 5/3, and FCG were amongst the top seeds.

WAIT!!! but what about mana drain and force of will!!!!

Congrats Ben.  Although, from my perspective its a hollow victory, since Matt Lawrence could have booted your ass three ways from saturday in the T8 if he wasn't such a nice guy.

I want to thank Mykeatog.  The event was excellent.  Great timing, good judging, a dealer (which is fuckin' unheard of for an event this size), and the best location.  Everything was top notch.  I also had a great time hanging out with everyone.  On top of that, I made it to my girlfriend's party tonight, which happened to be the bomb. It was a great way to spend a Saturday.

Matt made a couple play mistakes, mostly because he was probably pretty nervous having top eighted, and because he'd never played the deck before.  He never asked to take anything back when he made the mistakes, which I think is what Steve is referring to.  Matt's a class act.

Well I don't think it was his nerves from top eighting so much as his relative inexperience with the deck. Most of the spells in that deck he had never cast prior to that day, during the tournament, so he didn't really understand the ins and outs of how to play. He could have easily won game 2 several times (he won game 1).

Incidentally I was totally delighted that Matt got as far as he did. For those of you who didn't know, Matt is my twin brother. I drove an extra 1.5 hours the morning of the tourney to pick Matt up so he could join me for the day, and he played Mike's deck since Mike was running the tourney. This was his first top 8 appearance  Very Happy

If you'd like the play by play Brian, you could just ask Matt, he'd probably be pretty excited to tell you about it.
