This was so much fun filming.  Waterbury was a great time.  Thanks Ray! If only I had waited around for the HLA, this footage would have been HUGE.  In all seriousness, I want to eventually work up to feature match coverage like on www.magicthegathering.com.  Thanks for letting me tape you if you were in it.  If you were taped and did not make the final cut, sorry.  Some of the footage did not come out in a usable form (my fault, too zoomy).  I would love some feedback.  What do you guys want to see more of (besides HLA)?  What do you want to see less of?  Are the interviews effective and interesting?  Would you guys like to see more tech talk outside of playing?  How can I make it more exciting when filming matches?  The two sets of hands and a white table is not exactly thrilling.  I am trying to work out the logistics of doing a "pocket cam" shot like on the World Series of Poker.  The problem is, obviously, I only have one camera and no boom.  I am trying to figure out if I can do semi-regular stuff with more Magic content and less horsing around (though the horsing around is fun too).

there should obv be more of me.

Honestly, the matches themselves are kinda boring.  it's the random fucking around I enjoy watching.

I liked the interviews (i.e. card of the day, deck that will win, player that will win) the best out of anything. You could probably just combine that with the "tech time" part. Occasional match coverages are nice too, but I agree that it isn't worth bogging the tapes down with them because sometimes they get tedious to watch.

But this really was a nice production, I enjoyed it a lot. Thanks Smile.

Apparently I've been mispronouncing 'Zherbus', even though I've never misspelled it.

Also: in the future, just skip over the actual matches completely. Not only do other people cover them extensively, but I never realized how incredibly slow tournament players play! Watching Magic is like watching baseball.

Ric,

This was an awesome contribution.  I have been following this site for a little over two years now and it was great to finally get a chance to see a lot of the personalities that I have been reading.  I know that filming/editing can be labor intensive at times so I really appreciate the time and effort you put into this project.  I would love to see more video clips in the future, espically from the tournaments that a lot of us can't participate in due to location.  It would be great if this became a staple for the larger profile tournaments.

Fantastic job.  Major major props!

Bummer, the dragon didn't make the final cut?  Oh well.  The three-headed dragon's single cock is now triple signed by two different people, so I suppose I have nothing to complain about.

That was well cool. The only thing bad was not being able to see the cards being played due to the light reflections off the sleeves, but that did not detract from the experience. The filming and quality was much better than other videos I've seen from tournaments. Good job!

Sorry.  It was an editing issue.  I know he is not a Hadley-ite, I just could not squeeze in a disclaimer.

Sorry about that.  I was zooming in too much.  Digital zoom is the worst invention since the Iron Maiden.  Anyone have a cure for digital zoom shakes?

::Too many big penis jokes.  Brain exploding::

Seriously though, and this is a quote from the manual: "Using digital zoom may result in shaky or unstable images, regardless of camera movement."  Tripods work for normal or optical zoom, but not for digital zoom.

I would have but you were so busy with your throng of women and talking tech.  Plus your intimidating.

Just kidding.  I tried to tape people that wanted to be taped and I tried not to bother people too much.  You will totally be interviewed next time.

DUDE! I've always pronounced it Zair (rhymes with "air") -bus! I was so sure of this, I had never conceived of another pronunciation.

Tony: Interviews are excellent. When I read PT coverage, I never read about the matches with rare exception; it's the peripheral pieces that are interesting.

Yeah, that video was pretty cool Tony.  I just wanted to take this chance to mention though- that we have now met twice in the ring, and I have come out victorious BOTH times.

I always thought the "Z" was pronounced, well, like a "Z" not an "S".

Shows what I know. I never did take to none o' that fancy booklearnin' anyway.

And who doesn't at least TRY interviewing me? It hurts I tells yas.
