I'm a bit confused.

If I play a card such as [card]Rude Awakening[/card], would the animated lands have a creature type, and if so, what would it be?

Would it be the basic land type that was animated?

For example, would an animated Plains be: Creature -- Plains? Creature -- Land, perhaps?

Thank you very much.

I'm sorry, Miss Nanako. Looks like I won't be able to take you to the beach like I promised.

No, animated lands have no creature type, unless specified (such as for Mishra's FActory, which states it becomes an "Assembly Worker"). Legendary lands, however, kept the legend type, but with the new legend rule (being a supertype, not a type), even this exception is no more.

Umm...absolutely nothing has changed with Legendary Permanents.  An animated Legendary Land still has the Legendary Supertype, just as it did before.

I thought that before the new rule a legendary land, once animated, became a creature of type legend, so if I had a coat of arms and two legendary lands (different lands, of course), they gained the +1/+1 bonus. A bonus that now they won't gain anymore, since Legend is now not a creature type, and does not affect coat of arms. Am I missing something?  Confused

That is incorrect.

Animated Legendary permanents did not get the creature subtype legend.  They just kept the Legendary Supertype.

If I recall, this may have been different previously, but was changed as recently as the 8th Edition update.

Thanx for the correction. My fault.
