Hello everyone. My magic workstation just crashes. When I click on the icon I wait a seond then the "Do you want to send an error report" dialog comes up.

I am behind 2 firewalls but I have allowed almost all outgoing connections.

Does MWS use active X, because I disabled it totally.

Version 94.d isn't working with newer computers.  Go to their forums for more details.  The best thing is to just wait it out until they put up the next version.  You'll have to stop playing online (oh noez!!) or use Apprentice.  PM me for the link if you need it.

Yes, the problem is with hyperthreading. They have almost finished a 0.94e version to fix the problem. It should be out pretty soon.

P.S.
There are cheat tools for Apprentice that people (can) use. I would stick with MWS all the way!

Yep. When I got my new computer (3.2 ghz + Hyperthreading), MWS wouldn't work. I can't wait till the new version comes out- it's really an inconvenience.  Confused

When you install WinXP you can choose between turning HT on or off. Unfortunately this seems to be a one way option: you cannot change it once it is set. Recently it has been made public a bug with HT of the Delphi libraries (Delphi is the language in which is programmed MWS). At first the developers did not care much about it, since they are now focusing on the new version, which will be a total new program. But since many users reported this problem, they started working on it. The fix is almost done, it should not take too much for the 0.94e version to be released.

Agreed.  Firewalls at school prevent me from using apprentice very often.  Also, you can't connect to an opponnet you're familliar with.  I know tons of people via MWS username.  I use it not for testing, but for when I'm bored or trying to learn how to play a new deck.

There is a way to disable affinity on a per .exe basis, it might work if you disable the affinity for every MWS .exe - but remember to disable it for everything.

Well the firewalls are my own which I can open up what I want for who I want, but I just haven't been able to test it out beccause it crashes  immediately. Now I know why.

Yes, but it is not the definitive 0.94e patch, just a "release candidate". The 0.94e version should be out (and able to be downloaded through the autoupdater) at the end of the week.
