Where:  The Collector's Corner (formerly T&T Collectibles) in the Hadley Mall on Russell Street, Hadley MA
When:  Deck Reg starts at 1, the tournament will start at 2.  The date, if you missed it, was Saturday the 9th of October.
Cost:  Oh man oh man.  To ease in to the swing of things, I'll be opening the autumn season with an attendance dependant prize structure.  What does this mean?  Well, I'll get to that.  THE COST IS TEN DOLLARS PER PLAYER.
Special Rules:  There will be ten proxies allowed.

THE PRIZE STRUCTURE
Due to prodding by a couple people, notably Kerz and Corey Canfield (Diaonic) I've decided to make the prize structure attendance based, in order to reduce entry fees.

First place is guaranteed to be no less than one Library of Alexandria.  As the attendance increases, as do the prizes.  For example...
25+:  Second place prize of notable value, such as a berserk or a mana drain.
30+:  Library upgraded to a mox.
35+:  Mox and something cool for second place.
40+:  A mox...  AND A LIBRARY.

Yes, if I get over 40 people, I am losing money.  So be it!

Seating is increased for those of you who have been running low on chairs before.  The store is much more open than it was, and there are additional tables and chairs.

As always, we're in a mall, so there's an entire food court less than thirty paces away from the store.  Taco Bell, Sbarro's Pizza, a chinese place, Subway, and even a Dairy Queen are a stone's throw away.

Attendance permitting, there will be random door prizes, possibly CoK packs to everyone in the t8, and more!

Notice!
The more people we get, the more inflated my prize structure will be next time!  If we can keep the attendance high, we can keep the prizes pouring out, and maintain the absolute lowest prices of any venue in the states!

NOTICE B
There were complaints that kids taking the SATs couldn't participate.  As such, I bumped up the tourney time to 2 o clock.  Now there's no room for complaints.  Smile

Just to make it blatantly obvious, we're hoping for a turnout from places that don't usually get to rep this far in to MA.  Here's the kind of people I want to hear shouts from (in addition to all the people that regularly make hadley as fun and successful as usual, <3 you guys)

Wicketsnatcher!  C'mon man, make your triumphant return to vintage!

ctthespian!  Hadley is always happy for your support.

Jersey crew!  Ultima, Method, Seth, you guys know who you are, come on up and represent.

Binghamton kids!  kl0wn, big d of cf, crazy carl, Liz!  Bug Derek a lot, and he'll drive.  Make it happen.

New Hampshire!  Holy crap now here's a category.  Diaonic and his boys, AND Zherbus.  Hadley would LOVE to see you guys again.

Vermont!  Nobody's heard from you guys in months, time to show up and claim a couple t8 spots (and maybe a mox!)

Boston!  I know you guys won't disappoint.

Little Rho-day!  Oh whatever, you guys are all talk...  Or are you?  Bitches better PM Kerz and get on up here to win my mox.  Smile

Pittsfield cats!  Hale is a regular, but I don't remember seeing the rest of you guys here enough.

PENNSYLVANIA WHAT?!  LoA, Hyperion, make a showing!  Now THAT'D be hot.

So once more, shout out if you're coming, and make sure everyone hears you!

It looks like Boston will probably be there. It'd be awesome to meet new people at a $10 event.

I will be there, but it looks like Orlove, Jeff Greene, and others will need to find their own way down there, unless they can leave on Friday morning.  I'll be playing heavy rogue tech.  Heh.

This was a great tourney, 41 people 6 rounds cut to T8. T8 generally consisted of:

affinity (Ben my teamate)
5/3 (Me)
Deathlong (Goober)
control slaver
belcher
hadley rogue deck

2 other decks that slip my mind.

Great tournament overall. Kowal and Ryan did a great job.

"Congratulations Ray, Emp of the Qtr" was the sign we saw on the way out of Hadley.  We knew it meant something.

T8 lists to be posted as soon as I get back from Somers.

Are you guys planning on having any more of these sometime soon?  I know I say a lot I intend to make it to one of these, but now that I'm living full time in MA and have a car, the likeihood of my attending has increased quite a bit. I'm also going to have to start really taking advantage of the proxy rule, since I had to sell off some power for enough capital to move out of my house. What's scary is just how much selling off a few pieces of power can pay for stuff.

I'm trying to keep these going monthly.  With the support I got from this, I can confirm that my next tournament and hopefully many thereafter will be at ten dollar entry.
