I get Crush of Wurms first pick and while I wish I could get Phyrexian Gargantua last pick, I'll probably get either Hanna or Plated Slagwurm.

Plaguebearer or Crush first, no question (at least not since I realized that Crimson Hellkite is not Shivan Hellkite). I'll vote Plaguebearer.

Last pick is definitely Slagwurm or Hanna. I suspect Hanna but I'll throw caution to the wind and say Slagwurm.

Crush is pretty mediocre. Like, you get a few big dudes, but type four is more about poweful effects than fat. The creator of type four, Paul Mastriano, is also in sync with this strategy, and he usually only drafts a few ways to win. Staying alive and setting up a solid board is more important than what you use to actually finish the job.

Maybe it's just my style, but I like sitting back and letting other people do the killing. Therfore, I would probably choose FOF.

I've always been a fan of Savage Twister (especially now that my playgroup has banned Consumptive Goo) because it lets you kill everything except the Myojins and Darksteel Colossus, and then hope to get Hanna or Augury last pick.

I really like Augury since it allows you to manipulate the draw for the entire table until someone deals with it.

Like nearly every other T4 draft pick, this one depends on a great many things:

- How far into the draft are you?
- What have you drafted so far?
- How powerful is this particular T4 deck?
- How large is the deck in comparison to the number of players?

If this is flop #1 in a high-powered deck and each player's deck is going to be 40+ cards, FoF is the first pick.

If everything else is the same as above, but players' decks are going to be small, forget the FoF and go with the Crush early or the Plaguebearer late if you don't have any Masticores.  The Crush increases in value due to its potency when decks are small and you need to seal the deal faster.

In general, if it's late in the draft you'll have to weigh the Fof vs. the Bearer with regard to how much of each effect you have already.

If you have drafted Intuition already, Crush becomes much more attractive.

If you have drafted Slaver or Dissector, Hanna moves up a lot, but I still would rather have FoF to find said bombs.

All told, there are very few T4 picks that can be made in a vacuum.

btw:  Shane: this is the first one of these topics that I've seen (I've been off the grid for a few days)... they are awesome... keep it up!

Augury really should be removed from the deck.  Smile

^^^^^^^^^ I've been assuming it's first set, first pick.

Hanna is so fucking bad. As in unplayably terrible.

FoF is my first pick, with crush and plaugebearer up for second.

I've never used Augury, so I'm not sure how good it is, but I seriously doubt it's better than FoF.

Ding Ding Ding, we have a winner.

You're always going to get some good cards to kill with, the important things to pick up in the draft are options (instants). Card drawing gives you access to more options (duh) and digs to your bombs faster.

Don't let the fact that the format is filled with huge fatties sway you from what you've learned about resources in normal magic.

There's very few large instant draw spells in t4, don't let them pass you by easily.

In a format where instants are so powerful, and card advantage is so key.........fof takes the cake here.

I've never tried elemental augury or hanna, but they look interesting. I'd have to rate plaguebearer, and crush of wurms in the second tier...but still far behind fact or fiction.

For last pick.....My guess would be crimson hellkite, maybe phyrexian gargantua. BTW....Great idea on these type 4 pick polls...keep it up!

I voted for Fact or Fiction.

Fact or Fiction is bombtastic in the format where there is no land.  Every card is a bomb and I have a huge penchant for draw in the format.  I try to draft Fact and Opportunity whenever I can.  Although Elemental Augary is incredibly annoying, in practice, it can't stop your opponent from getting what they want.

I would also take FoF to follow the draft to get as much instants and card-advantage as possible.dec Surprised

I'd say Hellkite would be picked last.
