This is the first lot of cards in the draft, and these get flopped down, you draft first of 4 players.  What do you take first, what do you think you'll get left with?

Confiscate
Stifle
[card]Spinal Embrace[/card]
Living Death
[card]Hunting Pack[/card]
Mindslaver
[card]Second Thoughts[/card]
Clone

Discuss!

Personally I think this is a rather underpowered lot we have here, if I am going controllish I might go with the Second Thoughts, but Spinal Embrace is really good.

(btw, I'll be adding some scenarios to this soon, and if someone wants to take over a day for me, just shoot me a PM.  I hope everyone enjoys thinking about these as much as I do creating them).

I really like Spinal Embrace, too.  I'll probably get Clone last, and hopefully not Hunting Pack, which I personally hate

Um...I would assume Mindslaver. Living Death looks really powerful, but I guess from you guys' responses that it takes more setup than it's worth...?

I was unsure of the power of slaver since you only have 1 spell per turn.  If it were late in the draft and I had taken either a White Bringer or a Beacon of Unrest I would definitely take it.

Mindslaver is one of the single most powerful effects in the format.  I rarely see Mindslaver get used without at least one person getting killed.

This one is tough, I really like Second Thoughts and Spinal Embrace. Slaver can be so good but it can also be a very mediocre effect, I've never seen it be as amazing as Smmenen claims.

Picks like this are really fueled by my deck at the time. A 1st pick like this would probably be whichever of those 3 I randomly decided was best at the time.

I agree with Steve, Slaver is definately the most powerful card there (with spinal embrace a close second).
I wouldn't want to get stuck with Clone.

Mindslaver first, Spinal Embrace second.

I'd probably get Stifle as the last pick :<

Obviously its just me...But Mindslaver rarely seems to get out for me. I chose spinal embrace over it...but I'd go w/ the slaver if I had drafted the white bringer or some other neat tricks.

I think the last pick would be clone. I have also found stifle to be "ok", as it stops some pretty powerful stuff (slaver, bosh, etc.) that almost always would kill someone.

Slaver is extra amazing because even though it's sorcery speed, you can still activate it on your turn if people try something silly.
