I am thinking of allowing a max hand size of 10 for my stack.  I know others use a max of 7, some have no max hand size.  Which is best?  Discuss!

I would think that larger hand sizes would cause games to drag out for a long time and would make sorceries really, really bad (rather than how instants are just good to have.)  These two stem from the idea that you wouldn't be under as much pressure to play your spells, as you wouldn't lose them if you held them in hand too long.

It also makes a mostly harmless card like Bargain become something as broken as Holistic Wisdom.  I stick with seven.

Type 4: The Only Format Where Bargain is "Mostly Harmless."

I really see no reason to up the max hand size.  Hands rarely get that large to begin with, and jp and Kowal make good points about allowing them to be larger.

Extending the hand size makes first turn Promise of Power + Entwine more useful in the long game. Right now Promise of Power and other big draw spells are falling into Incarnation/Reanimator decks with my play group to take advantage of discarding down to seven.
