If these 3 cards came down on the same flop, which would you first pick and why?

[card]Soothsaying[/card]
[card]Aladdin's Lamp[/card]
[card]Flash of Insight[/card]

I once did a comparison of the card of this stripe in the deck becuase I used to think that Planar Portal was too good.

I used to think that Portal used to better than Soothsaying - which was waaay better than Lamp.  Portal is clearly better than Lamp becuase you get two cards a turn instead of just the card of your choice.  Soothsaying permits you to stack your deck in a way that makes it

I now think that Soothsaying is the most broken one of all.

If they don't destroy whichever one you play right away, then you shouldn't have too much trouble winning. If they kill lamp immediately, you get nothing. If they kill portal right away, you get a one-shot demonic. If they kill soothsaying, you still get to stack your deck completely. For this reason, once soothsaying is out, people will often leave it alone, unlike the other two.

However, in a game of three people or less, I'd definitely go for Portal.

This is a contest?  Soothsaying is amazingly broken.  If you resolve it, you will probably win unless everyone else decides to take you out.

I'd take soothsaying every time, however,  the other night (and I believe the reason TripleS posted this) I was the first pick on a flop that had flash and lamp. I debated for a moment and took the flash.  Here are my reasons
1 - instant demonic tutor.    ummm... that seems pretty good.   That it also stacks my deck on the spot seems like a pretty good bonus.
2 - flashback at random point to draw my 2nd best spell.
3 - immediate dividend.  I have seen Aladdin's lamp make it to its owner's next draw step about 20-25% of the time.   That sucks.   Yeah its getting destroyed because its good, but its also a vulnerability.  Why lose the card advantage and take the risk?
Sure lamp has its pro's...   Bosh fodder, repeated stacking if the situation changes, but that seems like pretty minor stuff when you have the option of Flash.
