Just a quick check to make sure I'm not missing anything regarding Uba Mask.

If a player would draw a card, that player removes that card from the game face up instead.
Each player may play cards he or she removed from the game with Uba Mask this turn.

Scenario 1:
There is an Uba mask in play.  Player A casts Brainstorm.  Player A would then, one at a time, put the top 3 cards of his library face up in the remove-from-game zone, then would put 2 cards from his hand (which doesn't include the 3 cards) back on top.  

Scenario 2:
Uba Mask is in play.  Player Z casts Thirst for Knowledge.  Since the 3 cards would be placed face up in the RFG zone instead of drawn, Player Z would not be able to discard any of them to TFK, but would have to discard 2 (or 1 artifact) from the other cards in hand.

Correct. Note that the player suffers no penalty if he currently has no cards in hand.

The Uba Mask also works admirably with Sylvan Library.

the best way to break uba mask is with bazaar of baghdad. a land drop with 'T: draw 2, discard nothing' seems hot.
Im running a stax variant right now that uses uba as both a lock component (they lose all the counters they dont play) and also as a draw engine w bazaar
