I just found the Plains. Here it is: It also is quite exceptional. It's too bad it won't be seeing much play, but that doesn't make it not amazing (like Misery Charm...amazing art).

While I'm in the camp that thinks that the Forest looks just like the Invasion Forests and the Mountain looks just like the Saga Mountains, the rest are hella cool.

The saga mountains are so good! They are my favorite ones. They picked all the best saga basics for the promos too.

They're beautiful and I love them...but I can only imagine how hard it is going to be to trade for fifteen to twenty of each of these things. Ah well, to be the coolest drafter in my neighbourhood, such is the sacrifice I shall make. Heh, I'd probably trade away some of my best trade bait, if I were offered a good chunk of these lands in exchange. At $1.00 each, I could still get 25 or 30 of them for a Sliver Queen.

There's a picture of one land hidden behind a link in each of MTG.com's non-preview articles this week, if anyone's curious

I love the artwork and the layout is fine (not quite as graceful as that of Unglued), but I wish they didn't have the horseshoe symbol (the Unglued lands/tokens didn't have the cracked egg). I'd rather not be reminded that WotC sank to the depths of basing a set on ass jokes.

The swamp and forest are pretty savage. The island seems a bit out of place, the art anyway. To bad thats the one we use. Still they look strong

These lands look great. I love them like a love the new Foil Balance, I want them but I think getting them might not be easy.
Thumbs up Wizard, most innovative basic lands since Portal.

The swamp reminds me of Opeth ablum covers (Morningrise and Blackwater Park).
They are amazing, but I still prefer Alpha and Beta basics. It's as pure as it can get. No pimp, no computer, just a simple representation of the land.

I really love the perspective on the Island. It quite reminds me of the perspective you would get if you were swooping in on a helicopter. All of the other ones employ a more 'head on' view. Not to say I don't <3 them as well, because I do, but I love the Island above them all especially.

The actual pictures look far superior to unglued but, the border (around the picture) on the unhinged cards doesnt look that good.

Well, having seen all of them in real life, I have to say that I'm very impressed. Although my initial opinion was that the artwork of the Plains and Island was lacking, a closer inspection of an actual card reveals much more attractive art than my computer screen would display.
I was also originally turned off by the lack of an interesting border, but having held them in my hand and seen them on the table, I really have come to like the idea of playing cards with a piece of art. The land name at the top is as the title of a painting. The card information at the bottom is too small to be noticed. The result is a card that has no explicit connection to Magic and I like that a lot.

I got a set of foil ones. They made the foiling work so that the "light source" on the art got less ink over the foiling making them "brighter". For instance, the shiniest part on the swamp is the moon in the background, and the shiniest part of the mountain is coming from just above the mountains as though the sun was lying below the horizon. also inspect your foil unhinged cards for more neat foiling tricks -- like gleemax has text & Richard Garfield PHd has his signature foiled in it. this auction has an image of RG phd foiled.
