JDizzle inspired me to make this thread. I was thinking about my favorite cards to use, and my brain wandered to the cards I loathe.
So... cards I hate.
[card]Plow Under[/card] - This card makes me want to murder the caster in front of their mother. [card]Mana crypt[/card] - Not only is this a promo card that must be a staple in many decks, it has a fucking coin flip on it. [card]Naturalize[/card] - Thanks Wizards, way to take away just about the only thing White mages have going for them. Disenchants are fine for green... as long as they have a power and toughness.

Even though it's arguably worse than Trinisphere, I feel all SoR's whould be ritually burnt.

Sorry, but being the T2 player I am...I HATE Atog! Atogs are amazing and fun for everyone involved. Heck, Atogs are strong in Type Two, but not format-warping by any means. Robo-Atog (Ravager) and Disciple of the Atog are much more problematic as cards, I think. Granted, if you said you hated atogs because of the Mirrodin picture, I'd be unable to argue. The AQ picture is around one thousand times better. So, clearly, I hate and fear AtogAtog.

I love being "inspirational." Makes me feel special... Ok, not really. I hate Null Rod and Chalice of the Void. I wouldn't mind collecting all them in existance and setting them on fire. Seriously, all I want to do is combo out on the first turn and have no one stop me. I don't understand why my opponent's don't want this to happen...

MINDSLAVER.
Wizards: "Let's rotate Counterspell out of the basic set, and also stop printing strong land destruction spells. Players like being able to play and resolve their spells. Good countermagic and good LD prevent this from happening."
<time passes, enter Mirrodin design stage>
Wizards: "Let's make a card that lets you take all your opponent's turns and lock them out from doing anything."
This card is an abomination and in direct contradiction with their stated mission of trying to increase the level of interaction in the game. Being on the receiving end of a Mindslaver is the worst feeling of violation I've ever felt.
Yawgmoth's Will is a close second.

Being on the receiving end of a Mindslaver is the worst feeling of violation I've ever felt. Oh, I had forgotten about Mindslaver (how did I do that?). I agree. I hate that card with a passion. What I think is particularly unfair is if your opponent decides to cast a Tutor or Wish for you, then he gets to see all of your deck, or worse, your sideboard. That's just an unfair advantage that no one should ever have, in my opinion.

I have to second the anti-Mindslaver sentiment. A few weeks ago, I had a kid in a FNM who thought he could make the opponent do ANYTHING during the controlled turn. He first "made" the opponent concede, then when I called him on it, he tried to make the opponent tell me to fuck myself.
What I'd give to judge in a community where the players aren't vile, unwashed bastards.

Yawgmoth's Will is a close second. You've got to give credit to a card game with mechanics like that, though. And anybody who hates Will is fooling themselves - it's like bringing a gatling gun into the stone age. Who doesn't like the feeling of absolute power? The card I hate the most is Wasteland.

Jester's Cap. Yeah. I hate that damn thing, but I guess it stems from playing 'tog and being capped at the Star City III second round. There's this awful feeling of bile associated with knowing you absolutely cannot win, only struggle futilely. It's worse than Mindslaver, seriously - forget recurring Mindslaver, just keep recurring the 'Cap

I decided that this required a top 3 list.
3. Wasteland. As much of a staple this card is, it's just so cheesy. Now people are wondering about Crucible being too powerful and it's only really because of this card. Free, uncounterable LD is boring.
2. Misdirection. Any time the metagame is full of these, I lose interest in the format. That sort of effect, while narrow, comes cheaper than FoW in this case.
and...
1. Null Rod. The mere fact that some decks run this situational card main attests to it's power. It invalidates too many interesting deck concepts.

SHARAZARAD!!!!!
I hate Darksteel Collosus just because of tinker... It has answers but its just such a stupid way to win...
Cards I hate so much that i would burn every copy of if i had the chance would be... Crucible of worlds Trinisphere For creating unfair tempo advantages...
Mind's desire (for just be so badly designed...) Sharazarad (dont ask...) Mindslaver (makes game sooo antisocial)... Humility (confuses me to much)
And probably a billion other cards that i cant think of but despize...

Sigil of Sleep Honestly, all it had to do was specify combat damage. But no, it had to combo with pingers. Now, keep in mind, there are a lot of associated cards that piss me off a lot too: Horseshoe Crab, Hermetic Study, and Morphling key among them. I could deal with those, though, if only my opponent couldn't hose my board position and kill me in the process, to the tune of /(damage * creature)

Did you know that Red is the color or art and music and passion? Combine that with Green, the color of nature, spiritualism, and community and you get a hippie commune of drum circles, dreamcatchers, and recreational drug use. Let's see that win a Pro Tour.

I only ever get mad when I have a Smokestack and Tangle Wire sitting across from me. I see them as one card, sort of like Big Furry Monster. What's the point of having just one of them in play, right?
