Vintage Evolution
Sunday February 6th 2005
Grand Prix: Boston @ Bay Side Expo Center

You’ve driven a thousand miles and you haven’t slept in two days. You weary; but you are ready to go. The other guy who came up with you has been passed out for hours, but it doesn’t matter.  The road sign says Boston, your deck is at your side, and no one knows how good you’ve become. With a half an hour before registration and adrenaline rushing through your body, you have arrived at Vintage Evolution.

The Top Eight Will Draft the Power Nine.[/i]

Barely awake, you made it. You don’t know how many matches you’ve played but you know your going to the elimination rounds. Dig for some energy, take a break, breathe. Your buddy didn’t make it, he went off to draft, and you’re all alone. Three more matches, but this isn’t about Black Lotus, this isn’t about Mox Jet, this isn’t about any of the cards anymore. This is about being the best.

Details to be added as I get them. These details are being handed down by the Grand Prix Coordinators.

Proxy: (Either Sanctioned or Any Five)
Cost: 30 Bucks!
Registration Time: (10am - 11am)
Start Time: (11am - 12noon)

The last piece of power will be given to a random player who completes the swiss portion of the event but doesn’t make top 8.

WIN YOUR WAY IN!
There are currently 13 entries being given away for free in tournaments leading up to the event. Several more entries are going to be given away, and I will post an updated list of people who have qualified here in this thread. The first event where qualification is possible is Mykeatog’s Mox II. (If anyone is holding a tournament and would like to make it a Vintage Evolution qualifier, let me know.)*NEW* After a conversation with Ray, The Waterbury Winner and Second Place will also receive free entry!!

Um, since it's invite-only, doesn't that make the total number of entries finite? Awesome idea though; I'd love to qualify myself, though looking at my schedule the only events I'll be playing in that make that possible is Waterbury since I only get out 1/month and the only thing I'm playing in in December is Hammers.

This event IS NOT invite only.

The invitations are simply ways to enter for free. While playing in alternate mox/power events across the country.

Sorry if I made that mistake-- I will change the original post!

I'mma do my damnest to qualify at Waterbury, but I'm still under a Ninja Curse. I'll show up anyway provided I can arrange a bus ride or something. Driving in Boston is shitty.

There have been several people qualify recently and more importantly...

This event will give out 8 PSA Invitation's!

So yes, this thing is crazy, and yes it is on Suberbowl Sunday... and yes, the TV is going to be very very very very big (more on that soon).

Hey Mr. Tog,

You can add Jeff Tussi and John Blake to your little qualifications list there.

Although, Jeff Tussi being already on it, does that mean the q passes down to third place finisher Justin Bransfield.

If you need any additional info on these guys, like address, phone, etc. just let me know.

A few questions:

Will this be sanctioned, or #-proxy?
If the latter, how many proxies?
If it's unsanctioned, with proxies, will betrayers be legal?

This is SuperBowl Sunday ::shakes fist::  I won last years PT Boston main event and was hoping to repeat.  Sadly I won't be able to attend due to the game.  Last years field was all about winning the Tog mirror.  This year I suspect the winner will have the knack of winning the Control Slaver Mirror.

Twelve dollars, apparently.

There were two type ones, one on saturday for a ruby, plus vintage evolution.

I split in the finals of the ruby tournament with my friend Nick, and ended up in 4th in VE, losing to Corey Frasier playing CS.  This basically set the tone for what happened that match:

Ruby, Welder, Sapphire, Jet, Island, go.  Drain your threat, topdeck Fact or Fiction.

He split with Greg Kelly in the finals.  Greg had also split with Antonio De Rosa, who was extraordinarily loud and obnoxious.

T8 from memory:

1)  Control Slaver
2)  Control Slaver
3)  Control Slaver
4)  Stax
5)  BURNiNATOR (I think this guy got paired with CS all day or something)
6)  Dragon
7)  Control Slaver
8)  Dragon

Type One deck found in parking lot!

As I was leaving on sunday night (sometime after the top 8 had drafted the power cards), I noticed a deckbox in the parking lot. A quick check of the contents showed that it contained a Type One deck. I brought the box inside and handed it off to the people running the show.

If you lost your deck on sunday, or if you know someone who did, please contact TJ Collectibles with a detailed description of the deck contents:
