I'm finishing up my graduation paper on the interaction between carbon dioxide sequestration and decentralised cogeneration of heat and electricity for the Dutch household sector in the year 2050, and I need a quote.

Every good paper needs a quote.

You can quote me on that, by the way. Ideally, I'd like a Magic quote, ofcourse. Something from a flavor text, I guess. It has to be (pseudo-)deep, vague, and preferably relating to the subject on SOME level (yeah right Wink. Seriously, I'm thinking along the lines of 'energy', 'power', 'fortune telling' and stuff. If I can't find anything good that remotely relates to the subject at hand, I'll take one that's so vague that it can be interpreted to mean almost anything. Also, I don't want it to be immediately recognizable as a magic card quote (only to insiders, as it were).

OK, so that's a shitload of demands. But hey, there's thousands upon thousands of cards. If you happen to come across something cool, lemme know! Thanks a bunch, dudes!

Mother FUCK who changed the apprentice patch to not include flavor text anymore. Otherwise, I'd have a quote for you in no time flat.

You could always use Gatherer.

"The Only Constant is Change" -- Heraclitus

This was on Energy Flux from 4th or 5th I think. Heraclitus is the man, and I could go on for a long, long time about how this Presocratic's conception of The Logos has influenced later thinkers. Eventually, in John, Jesus was equated with the Logos -- and the Logos is very similar to Plato's Demiurge.

But I'll stop before I put everyone to sleep.

While I really like the quote in itself, I see three distinct problems with it:

1. it's slightly over-used.
2. the current state of science believes it to be untrue (in other words: my mentors are gonna hate it ;-)
3. for the purpose of my model, I have assumed ANY more things to be constant that I actually know full well are not, and by the way: I have actually assumed 'change' to be NOT contant at one point ;-)

But thanks for trying!

Here's a half serious one and my personal favorite, which happens to meet your qualification of being vague.
