Can I play Myojin with Show and Tell or Eureka and get a divinity counter on it? Becuase it says play from your hand I assume it gets a counter. I'm not sure if put into play is the same as play from your hand. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Peace.

Played from your hand means casting.  Play = cast.  This is an important distinction to make.

So no divinity counter unless you actually pay the mana cost.

It's the same reason you can't Tooth and Nail a Myojin into play and get a counter. In Magic terms, put is not the same thing as play.
