Im really bad at Halo2, but even I have string killed like 9 people with the sword. Its uber broke. For those who don't play Halo, all you have to do is have the targeting reticule over a person with the sword, if your close enough a click = autokill. You also dash forward really quickly when you swipe with the sword

I'm surprised there's no mention of the Brute Shot. It's like the best, most handiest weapon in the game. Let's do the math: sword + grenade launcher > sword. It's pretty simple actually.

Ray, get hooked up to Xbox Live for gawd's sake :< Oh yeah, and all the rest of you too! My name is Kerz187... at least hook up a random Ethernet cable and use your two free months you got with the game Also, I'm a rocket launcher man. Sword requires you to be too close for comfort- if a good enemy has a sizeable distance and 1-2 solid weapons, you will get killed. (I'm talking PvP here).

The weapons are all really balanced. I'll take plasma pistol + SMG/Battle Rifle first choice over any of those.
Rockets just don't have enough ammo. You'll get kills with them (unless you suck) but reloading will kill you.
I voted for sword but only because it tools on n00bs. Good players can dodge it/mow you down before you really get in there enough of the time that it's nothing special. I'd rather have a shotty on a map like lockdown, for instance.
Sniper is meh because the maps have so much cover. I feel like the only map it becomes relevant on is beaver creek, and that is so full of juicy artillery and places to hide that even there it can't be top ranked.

Doesn't matter what map I play on, im just surgical with the sniper rifle.
Its one of those weapons that if you get good at it, you can use it in any situation and pwn.

I totally agree with that, and I don't even play Halo. Sniper rifles are hard to master in any FPS, but once you master them, they're totally broken.
Of course, this is only from experience with Tribes and Rogue Spear (2x Enforcers and Chainguns rock UT, where I can't even remember if there WAS a sniper rifle).

I (2x Enforcers and Chainguns rock UT, where I can't even remember if there WAS a sniper rifle). OMFG, the sniper rifle in the original Unreal Tournament was AMAZING. When I was playing regularly in college I could headshot without zooming while airborne. I could take it into close quarters combat and drop guys with the flak cannon. UT 2003 totally ruined the rifle by making it a lightning gun, and from what I hear, UT 2004 nerfed it pretty bad too, though they brought it back as a "sniper rifle".

*looks forlornly at his PS2*
I sometimes play at a friend's, but he's still living in the dorms, where they aren't allowed to use XBox live for some dumb reason.
I used to tear it up at Renegades Tribes with the sniper rifle until I stopped playing it for a few years.
