What is 3cb?

3-Card Blind (3CB) is a very unique game. The rules are as follows

Your deck is composed of 3 cards, all of which start in your hand.
You have no library (technically, the library exists, but starts at 0 cards) and no sideboard (Wishes fetch nothing).
Random effects always go in your opponent's favour.
You can see your opponent's hand, so you can always make the best possible play.
You don't lose as a result of not being able to draw a card.
You will play each opponent twice, once going first, once going second.
For each win, you score 3.
For each draw, you score 1.
For each lose, you get nothing.
Other than the aforementioned, EVERYTHING IS HANDLED EXACTLY LIKE A REAL GAME OF MAGIC!  



To make an entry, PM your deck to combo_dude in the following format:

Subject: 3cb Tournament #48 Entry or 3cb Tournament#48 Revision
Deck Name
Card #1
Card #2
Card #3

Optional Deck discussion, random sucking up, etc.


I'll close entries after 2 weeks. Get your entries in by 19th January and I'll calculate. As I said, the banned list may change within 48 hours of this post going up. After that, it stays as it is. This is not a reason to withold your decks, though - this is not a particuarly serious format! If something's broke, please fix it whilst we can!

Please see the large, blue text above so that you know who to PM these to - there were a few mistakes involving PMs last time I tried to open one of these on wonkey's behalf. This time I'm running it altogether, as wonkey has a whole lot of stuff on at the moment (including a War of the Websites that's happening fairly soon). So please PM me your decks.

I know it's up a little early, but I'm very busy tomorrow and may not make it to the computer; as wonkey's out of the country (see the previous tournament opening post) at the moment there won't be any results for a few days from #48, so half a day either way makes no real difference.

And I'll make my standard plea not to enter mise decks if you can possibly avoid it, as I don't like them in an open format unless they're works of genius that have never been tried before.

Nearly 50 - let's make this one a good one!

I'm back... <3 skiing.

A few things:
1) The results for the previous 3CB go up in a day or two, as I've got exams at the moment so not a great deal of time in the next few days. Sorry for the delay.

2) The next WotW starts sometime in the next week (or next monday at the latest), with no banned list. We're still debating whether to ban double-discard or not (hence no balance or chain of smog), but I'll confirm that the rule of 1 non-mana source per team rule, to stop the whole meddling mage scenario from happening, will be in effect. Get thinking!

3) Please send decks to combo_dude for this one (although will be back to me for the next one). We could do with some ideas for the next tournament, too, as it's number 50 and all that. I could come up with some sort of bonus system, so you'd get extra points for doing certain things with the deck, and see what comes out. Sound interesting enough?

Like I said earlier, I put them up earlier. There's no reason why I should put the results up a day early, it'll disrupt the Thursday -> Thursday flow of things. Oh, and there's no need to be rude about asking for them - I'll put them up tomorrow, possibly Friday as I'm really busy with work and stuff tomorrow.

I know it's kind of the pot calling the kettle black, but having the results up tomorrow would be good due to the WotW stuff going on (which I hope we're going to be able to muster a team for). Just would be nice, that's all.
