Outlaw-ed 5th-6th Split Waterbury #5

Once upon a time, not so far away in North Adams, Massachusetts, there was a small small team, that based their ability on Savage Tech. This is one of their team members story, ::key corny music:: Behind the Music, the Outlaw-ed Story.

(Pre-Tourney History) Friday the 14th
Going to school in a vocational highschool is insane tech, we do absolutely nothing for a few hours, I leave to go off to work and come home around 3ish. I leave to pick up my wonderful girlfriend and we head to the mall, eminent sick feeling of driving for the next day sets in early, I be a nice boyfriend and buy Mrs. Outlaw jewlery and be sweet about it. I drop her off waiting for TrixR4Kids to get out of work, and soon enough we work out plans to crash at his place 5 minutes down the road from my humble establishment, Sextiger is picked up in the process. We test for a few hours (keep in mind, the days previous I was going to be running tog instead of my usual control slavery) it sets in that I made the better choice to run Slavery, and we felt the metagame was going to be just that, mucho CS. I finally hit the couch, and we proceed to rock off 3 hour sleep tech.

Saturday the 15th (Beginning the 24 hour count down till next point of Rest, here at 6:00 AM)
6:00 AM brings the wake up call, and I kick it up shower style (magic bane!) There is literally inches of snow everywhere (we do live in the freezing desolace wastelands of Massachusetts), clean off the car and hop in and fill up the tank. Dunkin Donuts summons us forth, and soon were on the road and im droppin a bacon egg and cheese croisant like its hot and burninatoring through my throat with a coffee. We meet up with Purplehat at his college and proceed to start are run (Waterbury or broke) , two hours later we end up at the Marriot Hotel! My girlfriend proceeds to call and wish me luck, and we exchange I love yous, and the day feels good. After a few minutes of trading and atempting to buy sideboard cards and trying to find lava darts I finally drop my list like its hot as follows.

I have to appologize right now, I was up for a complete day (literally 24 hours straight) so if I mess up some matches (my notes suck, and I'm not good with names) I appologize. /equips shades of doom (they stayed on the entire tourney)

Round 1 *Unknown* Modified U/R Fish 2-1
Game 1 we shuffle up, if im correct he drops some voidmage prodigies and grim lavamancers and keeps my welders off the board and smashes in face with little gay men.
Game 2 I manage to keep his little men off the table and slave him to death and ride pentabus to the win.
Game 3 I had a feeling he for some reason didn't run null rods, so I didnt sb for them. I manage to win inspite of null rod via tinker - pentabus.

My team and I down a pizza, and I fill up my waterbottle (high suggestions on a waterbottle, I filled it up at least 8 times throughout the day)

Round 2 *Unknown* Dragon 2-0
Game 1 I win the roll and keep a very nice hand, I soon learn he is playing dragon and I watch as a bazaar of baghdad goes rampart, with squee's little embrace. Finally I cunning wish ---> Coffin Purge, and eat a squee and dragon. Two turns later, he bazaars and atempts to go off, and begins to ask if I know how the dragon mechanic works, I chuckle and in all serious ness I proceed to drop a "Theres no dragon in your yard" like its hot, he picks up for game 2.
Game 2 We draw go for many turns, and I atempt to pop a pentabus into the yard for having 8 cards and a welder on the board, and in response he does something atempting to animate something in response and I coffin purge and wait another turn and pop the bus into the yard, he atempts to animate in response I counter and win with it over a few turns of complete control.

I <3 slavery, and Mrs. Outlaw checks in and I report 2-0 standing, we exchange the I love yous and more goodlucks come from her teched out part.

Round 3 Grand Inquisitor Cerebral Assassin 2-0
Game 1 I learn its GI, and I shake his hand and such, we shuffle up and I keep a very nice hand. I manage to slave while he gets no business, and for some reason he ancestral recalls me /shrug.
Game 2 I have the nuts broken and its just pure game, I shake his hand and apologize for have the nuts. He undertands and congratulates me.

Round 4 *Unknown* Sligh 2-0 (I wonder how sligh is 4-0..)
Game 1 We shuffle up and deal out, and soon I learn he is playing sligh (yeah I know, wtf..) and I cannot keep a welder on board but I manage to slave him and pop away all his spells and get him in a pentabus lock.
Game 2 In Bus we Trust, I manage to drop it after going to 3 life (insanely scary vs. sligh) I know i have a welder, mox and pentavus on the table and im tapped out, he has one mountain untapped and he draws his card for the turn and I quiver, scared its a bolt to the dome he drops a pulvarize on all my stuff, I think about it for a second and let it resolve. I chuckle as he looks at my darksteel citadel and tells me it dies, I put a "its indestructable" on the stack and weld it out for the bus and win.

That round I had joked around with Rich shay and personally nuked with Lava dart infront of him. Thank him for doing what he does and I shook his hand, made me feel really good. Thanks Rich.

Mrs. Outlaw calls and I inform her im 4-0, she replies no matter what I'll be happy when I get home, so therefore I am happy despite. Exchange of I love yous occurs, and we get ready for round 5.

Round 5 Ultima Toadyslavery Draw
Game 1 I learn its Ultima, and I shake his hand and such (I respect everyone, and Ultima remembers me from Endicott) He manages to strip away all my lands with crucible-strip and get an active welder and he wins.
Game 2 Tinker ---> The bus, wins me the game quickly enough.
Game 3 This game is completely the nuts, we counter each others stuff and cant get any board control, finally I manage to get a pentavus on the board while he has a little platinum bling. He has two active welders to my one, and hes swingin me away very quickly. In the end time is called, and I have like 3 little superman dudes on the board (girlfriend tech) and I'm blocking the angel turn after turn. Finally it comes down to turn 5 and I'm at like 6 life, he swings with angel and a welder after trying to nuke a welder with a dart, and I previously was going to pop a fetch to thin the deck, I end up some how at 1 life after the 5th turn, I nearly shit myself.

My team is going nuts as I am 4-0-1 and they can't believe how well I am doing. I learn I'm playin a fella named Kent, and I know what he plays so I have the advantage.

Round 6 Kent Chroni-stax 2-1
Game 1 I play trinisphere, I win. He rocks it out with a 3sphere and crucible to the point where I havent even played a spell, and he has no clue what I am playing.
Game 2 He gets another 3sphere out turn one after a welder, and I I see my team mates cringe, and I sit on a basic fetch and citadel till I can drop a welder, rack some stuff and what not and pull welder superiority. He had dropped a chalice for 0 and I was holding full grip on moxen and lotus, I cry (this was before I racked). I slave him and he for some reason blows up his whole board with an engineered explosives set to 0? I win.
Game 3 Leads me off with a few welders and getting a pulse lock, and running the bus in for some win. My team stops cringing.

After round 6 GI and Matt Snow speak of the possiblities of drawing the next two rounds into top 16. We figure it may be possible but are unsure, and we joke around saying Snow and I would be paired to battle in round 7.

Round 7 Matt Snow TPS Draw
Game 1 Ironically we had actually been matched up, we decided to play it out, for if we won within the current and next rounds we were gurenteed top 16. Brings the nuts for him, and I loose quickly to a high storm count after I thought I owned the game. He bargains quickly.. I loose.
Game 2 I manage to counter nearly every living thing on the earth, and he atempts to brainstorm for something and I reb it with no emotion at all, the crowd (Eastman, his brother(dont know name sorry), GI, and I think chains) all drop oooo's after I nuked the brainstorm from orbit. I ride a slaver to the win, I love when people recall me and build up their storm count and just stall out.
Game 3 Brings the draw, after nearly loosing I slave him and hit the 5th turn a bit later.

Round 8 Jeff Tussi CS Draw
We manage to talk to Nomad (thanks very much), and finally after hestitation we find out we can I.D us both into top 16.

Cross, Nataz, Purple Hat, TrixR4Kids, and Sextiger all gather around me as they call the top 16 spots. They go all the way to 12th with me nearly wetting myself, finally they drop 13th with the Justin Timoney and I nearly faint. I made it to top 16 in Waterbury....

Top 16 Matchup *Unknown* 5/3 2-1
Game 1 We shuffle up and congratulate each other on a job well done, I know previously that he is playing 5/3 and he has no clue what I am playing. He manages to nuke me with a titan and two juggies, I cry and feel top 8 falling away.
Game 2 This game is the complete nuts, after previously speaking of how Trix had won the manadrain open with 5/3 and he had got most of his build from him we played it out. Turn one I reveal the nuts, and have first turn drain mana open, and I eat a welder. I have the ability to thirst next turn but I decided to keep drain up, I drain something next turn, and the following next two turns, and even manage to force 4 spells. Yes thats right, I played 8 counter spells and I manage to win via 3 welder beatdown. I smile...
Game 3 I reveal the nuts hand again, and manage to drop a bus quickly and own with welder superiority. I go totally broken all over his face, and win the game, I apologize and shake his hand after nuking 3 thirsts with counterspells and rebs straight in a row. I have to admit, I knew the match because this is the deck I play tested agaisnt for months, Thanks Trix.

Top 8 Match Ultima Mirror 0-2
Cut it short, I got swept up fairly nicely both games via crucible strip one game and next I just got munched at. Not fun, my ipod also died. Congrats Ultima, Boomshakalaka.

5-6 Match with Brian Phelon 2-1 with Rector Trix
Game 1 I slave him and drop a bus, he scoops.
Game 2 He combos me off with me having no business.
Game 3 I have an opening hand that comprises itself of 4 mana drains, force, and some other stuff. I manage to drain a rector, and he has future sight on the table. I slave him and what rips off the top? demonic tutor it wasnt really ripped but then necropotence was revealed, well the funny thing is he didnt have the mana to cast it but he did have the ability to demonic tutor for rushing river with a illusions in hand. Mr. Phelon, we have to speak of your suicidic ways, illusions come into play ability on the stack, rushing river it? Savage Tech.

We sit around for literally like 2 hours waiting for people to finish after I find out I can still win a mox. Hi-Val (new name Hi-Sweetness) manages to edit a shitload of my cards for next to nothing and this keeps my spirits high. I help out Kowal with some kid as I threaten to go off and slay him like the foreign kid I am, knife and all. Kowal laughs and he tells me to call the mrs. and tell her that we had car trouble and hes vouching for us.

I am paired up vs. ELD, and I know what hes playin he knows what I am playin. We are both exhausted, he has a sinus infection (hope ya get better soon) my team mates are sleeping in purplehats room and everyone is completely dead, its like 3 am in the morning and my girlfriend calls and we figure it out. I own no power, and we split, I own a mox pearl for a twister and 50$. I finally shake hands with everyone at the spot and personally thank Ray, hes such a great guy.

I call and wake up Trix and Tiger, and we stop over at the little shop, I buy 2 starbucks quickshot expressos and pound them in the freeeeezing cold. I begin the drive home and compliments of all the water drinking meets up with me, I pee on a dumpster at a gas station, after buying a kmx and jolt gum. I cannot keep awake despite all the stuff I am pounding to atempt to, and Trix takes over.

6:00 AM we arrive at Trix's and I am completely dead. I drive a sports car with T-tops, my insides of my car are encased with ice, not fun as I sit there chizzlin it away, and freeze my body nearly off, yes you heard it off. I get home and can't sleep cause the caffeine is kicked in, what fun.
