If anyone plays please PM me or email me, either one.

I'm looking for a good server with some friendly faces on it!   Wink

Or you could just post your Server and Race here, so I have an idea which server/affiliation has the most of us playing on it!

Thanks!   Cool

45 Night Elf Rogue on Frostwolf, 26 NE Warrior on Frostwolf.

I joined those servers 'cause it's where all the old timers went.  It was one of the first PvP servers opened, and everybody around here went to it.  Now, it's overloaded as crap, quite possibly the least stable server out there (Ner'Zhul being about equally as bad).  If it were a more stable, less crowded server, I'd definintely recommend coming around, cause I've got lotsa good people who can help out.

Of course, if you have any general questions about the game, I'd be more than happy to answer.

World of Warcraft: hot or not?  I only know what Penny Arcade tells me about it, which makes it seem like Blizzard is looking the other way or something at the big problems (which I don't know what they are or if they're "big") that the game is having.

I'd say fairly warm.

When we first started we were on a heavily populated server and it was nearly unplayable at peak times.  So we started over on a lower population server and its been great.  I still get random lag spikes more often than I'd like ... but overall I'd say its not too bad.  When I do get a lag spike its a total lockout for 10 - 30!! seconds, which is a free trip to the graveyard  in any game.  Bugs are few, but annoying.

Well, the game itself is immensely hot.  Major problems are arising on the larger servers which is what Penny Arcade is railing about.  I know firsthand that they're really working their asses off to fix the problems and that all should be well sometime within the next two weeks (But you guys didn't hear that.  I didn't say it either).

Bah, we already had a WoW thread.  Now we have two. :/  I guess the old one was stale.

47 Tauren Warrior on Warsong PVP.  Look up Beef.  You'll find me. Smile

To say that Blizzard is looking the other way would be inaccurate.  THey are aware of the issues and are correcting them as they can.  They were massively overwhelmed with demand.  Perhaps they should have anticipated that there would be this much, but the demand destroyed their expectations.

These are all issues that will be resolved eventually.  I'd have left if this game didn't rock so much.  But, since it's so great I'm sticking it out.

My only regret is the lacking in combinations of race/class combo's.  I mean it may seem like there are a lot of options, but really there aren't as many as there should/could be to inspire a little more divercity.  Ah well.  Come to think of it...  Scratch that, I'd rather we had more appearance customization choices then anything, too many people look the same!!!

I just wanted to start the thread to get some information posts, like race/class/server and such out there.  The other post looked more like a discussion rather then just information gathering.  =)

Um. Level 18 (?) Night Elf Warrior on server Dalaran is my main character. I'm currently not playing until I can buy a new computer though.  Crying or Very sad

Go lvl n00b.

On an unrelated note, Josh, are you doing much of the endgame instances, ie MC/Onyxia?  How are you liking the 'lock? (Don't have the energy, patience, sex factor to level one beyond 20)

I've got a 60 Rogue, a 55 Priest and a 48 Warrior, and of the three, the only one that I really enjoy playing is my Rogue.  I'm joining up with the first guild on my server to kill Onyxia/Ragnaros, a bunch of really cool to hang out with guys, so I'm just now starting to do the endgame stuff (obviously outside of BRS/Scholo/Strath/DM).

How are you liking the PvP on a PvE server?

I love the warlock.   They bring a lot of very helpful options to the table, Banish is the only crowd control in Molten Core and it has saved the raid many times. Soulstone, Imp, Healthstones, and of course Curse of Shadow/Arcane....  I definetly feel like I add a lot to our MC runs. My big problem with warlocks is that our usefulness does not go up a whole lot with extra warlocks.  More paladins means more auras, or more blessings... but because of the debuff limit we cant really go curse crazy, multiple soulstones is really pointless, and of course our most efficient weapon (dots) cant be used at all.
Levelling was really a breeze. Not as fast as amage or rogue, but with the pet I was seldom in a lot of danger, slow and steady (and yes that can be boring).  Properly specc'd a warlock can be tremendously damaging in the end-game even without our DoTs.

I suppose I've answerd your question on end-game content. A few weeks ago we started running Molten Core.  It was rough in the beginning (espeically acquiring tranquilizing shots) but we're moving really well now.  We've killed Lucifron, Magmadar, and Gehennas.  Onyxia we tried for the first time last week and as you'd expect we got fried.  A couple more runs of practice though and I am confident she'll end up on the farm-list also.

I love the PvP options on a PvE server... namely, that if I dont feel like fighting, I dont have to. I can gather components or run down quests in peace.  BUT if I want to fight a human intelligence I have the options of battlegrounds or I can hop into one of the Southshore/Tarren Mill battles.  I like that choice being given to me, and not some asshat who gets his jollies by backstabbing lowbies while they are levelling.

I have a 47 Human Paladin on Destromath, a Mid-Pop PVP Server. The PVP factor did get to me in the lower levels, where I would get ganked when questing, but now, as I get higer and higher, I learn to love it more and more. It keeps you on your toes, can lead to some great fun, but also great frustration. The Horde outnumbers us 3:1 on my server, so they always get the chest that drops in STV. As a matter of fact, they almost own the whole area due to the camp at Grom. Right now I'm having a good time on my Paladin, the levels between SM runs and ZF runs I found very unattractive for a few reasons:

1. Uldaman is the worst, THE WORST instance in history. I won't give reasons, most players will agree.
2. Sans Uldaman, these few levels are tough to grind out with non-grouping quests (They are hard to solo unless you want to farm)
3. Due to the two above reasons, in this timespan you are almost at the mercy of your ability to find groups. I would log on, fly to IF, LFG for a half hour, get frustrated and go farm somewhere to try to solo a red quest (not happening). This was the downside of my low-pop server (we just moved up to mid!).

Anyways, I just thought I'd share some thoughts. I've had a really great time, and the bugs are few and far between. I'd reccommend the game. Obviously, it's hideously addictive.

I'm almost up to 40 now.  The slowest levels have been 33-37, where there are few interesting quests to do, and the ones that do exist are pretty repetitive (the hunting mastery in STV for example)

That said, it did absolute wonders for my character's skills, since it pretty much forced me to pump skinning/leatherworking off all the random jungle beasts.  Leatherworking hit 200 tonight, and skinning is up to 260.

On a side note, Carl, I tried to add you to my friends list, but it says you don't exist.  Is there something in your nick that I'm not catching?

1) I'd respectfully submit that you havent been to BlackRock Depths yet...    Uldamon is a pain, but BRD is an even bigger waste of time.  Its compounded by the game design forcing you to go there multiple times (onyxia key chain, attunement to the core).  Blizzard also decided to put ONE classes set item on the last boss in BRD... forcing paladins to scrounge groups for that place constantly.  Unfortunately they neglected to put ANY decent loot in the dungeon and most non-masochistic people will refuse to go.    BRD tops my hate list in a heartbeat

2) There are lots of solo quests all th way to 60... you just have to be looking in the right place.  Tanaris, the Hinterlands, and Searing Gorge are all good in that level range.

3)  Ironlag LFG is a huge waste of time.  So many people are guilded and will only group in guild that all you'll get are the rejects who make pickup groups miserable.  If you can make it work, more powerto you, but I'll never join a pickup group again.

4) This game is incredible.

Draenor Update -

We have begun spawning Ragnaros, and are killing Onyxia every week.
Late TMD additions to our server are already at 60 and raiding with us, with the exception of Kowal who spends too much time in Battlegrounds slaughtering the children.

I continue to be enthralled with the game... although a good portion of that comes from having so many friends in my guild and having my guild make such giant strides in Molten Core.  No one on our server yet has downed Ragnaros and I feel like even though we started very late (relative to the other 2 power guilds) we've got a good shot of doing it.

On a more personal note - I still love the warlock.  The new Demonology talents are very raid friendly(improved imp, improved healthstones, pet options including threatreduction, damageincrease, mana regen).  I also got my Staff of Dominance and Nemesis Skullcap this week so that my have something to do with it.  Smile

Anybody getting started with the game and looking to PVE with an Alliance race should hop on Draenor, we are living the good life here.

Yeah, killing kids would be sweet, but the alliance is where all the kiddies are.  We generally get our asses beat twice a day, and get one decent raid that wins 3-2 every other day.

That said, I'll hit 60 soon.  I'm going to hit 51 today, and then I'll be useless in BG until like 56 or 57.
