Well, after the pre-release, I've made out with a foil Disrupting Shoal, Shining Shoal, RFG Wrath of God, Heed the Mists and maybe one or two other things from BoK.  One thing about pre-releases though; people have TONS of Type 4 foils Very Happy

I haven't gotten a chance to play with anything just yet, and I have a feeling i'll be disappointed by Disrupting Shoal, but I'm also trying to find a Sickening Shoal.  I also have a That Which Was Taken and I'm going to try it out, but I'm not sure how it'll be.

The set looks pretty fun, but nothing jumps out and says "PUT ME IN YOUR STACK!"

Everyone else?

As far as Type 4 is concerned, there's absolutely no way that Disrupting Shoal will be disappointing. Discarding a blue card is an alternate casting cost. You can still hardcast the thing -- and in Type 4, that's trivial. Just as with Spell Blast, Disrupting Shoal would be just another hard counter in T4.

Did you know that Red is the color or art and music and passion? Combine that with Green, the color of nature, spiritualism, and community and you get a hippie commune of drum circles, dreamcatchers, and recreational drug use. Let's see that win a Pro Tour.

The Prerelease card, Ink-Eyes, is amazing.

Let's see, Nekrataal's done his job,
and he's just a useless dude at this point.
Mise well swing at the guy with no blockers.
First strike damage resolves,
Ninja!!! happens and Ink-Eyes hits,
take some guy from your yard,
oh and, by the way, Nekrataal's back in my hand where he belongs.
Think Duplicant, Battlemages, etc, etc.
Best part?
It's an ability, not a spell.

Crack The Earth, common sorcery for R,
everybody sacs a permanent.
Heh.

Ed Beard was in Boston, so I got my Nicol Bolas and my Chromium signed.

Hmm, these are all maybes for my stack (I have lots of random critters and a low power level)

Ashen Monstrosity (7/4, must attack each turn)
Final Judgement (RFG Wrath)
Fumiko the Low Blood (All oppo's creatures attack each turn, Bushido = no of attackers)
Genju of the Realm (5 colour one... prob. not enough lands, but it would be funny)
Heed the Mists (cmc based card draw)
Ink Eyes (Rat ninja reanimate guy)
Jetting Glasskite (4/4 flyer, counter first spell targeting it each turn)
Mannichi, the Fevered Dream (About Face activated ability)
Opal-Eye, Konda's Yojimbo (Infinite toughness)
Ornate Kanzashi (Artifact, T:steal opponent's top card)
Shining Shoal (Redirect X damage)
Siverstorm Samurai (Instant speed creature)
Stir the Grave (Reanimation)
Sway the Stars (Reset game, life totals start at 7)
That Which Was Taken (Makes things IN...DES...TRUCTABLE... CAPTAIN SCARLET!!!! De doom doom de doo doo doom)... That's a great program Very Happy
Toshro Umezawa (Yawg Will an instant whenever oppo's creature dies)
Twist Allegiance (You and target oppo swap creatures until eot)

Like I said, these are what I see as the maybes Very Happy

Oh, I'm perfectly aware it'll be a decent hardcounter.  I was just expecting a lot more of it than I should have.  It'll still be fine though.  I'd like to add the 5C Genju.  It looks awesome.

Dan: You've got a good point with Ink Eyes.  I don't have enough CIP guys in my deck to make it any good though Sad.

I forgot I'd picked up a Sway the Stars.  I mised a foil one off some dude that got one in a draft Very Happy

I'm not too impressed with the set overall. The bulk of the playable cards are just variations of removal. I really like interesting, never seen before kind of stuff. The cards that jump out in that department are Ornate Kaza-whatever and That Which Was Taken, but they both seem like mid-range picks.

I'm not sure about Sway of the Stars; it looks really cool but is symmetrical and Draw7s in general have not proven themselves in our stack. The card that I like the best I think is the White Shoal, though the fact that it's only one source is very "Meh." Ink-Eyes is mad cool, what with it being a Ninja and not being the spell for turn, and I'm sure it'll win some games, but it's cards like that that never seem to work when you want them to. (We also don't have many 187's, which make him infintely better)

I haven't taken an in depth look at the Spoiler though, so there might be some gems I missed, but otherwise I give this set about a 4 out of 10.

EDIT: I think this set would be a lot better if there were enough Arcane cards to make Splice reliable, rather than a freak occurence. The only one we're playing with right now is Reweave. Also, Spiritcraft is useless now, but this set has some back-breaking Spiritcraft stuff if there were only enough.
