Angelic renewal

If I have a angelic renewal in play together with a 2 mana creature and my opponent sac's a deed for 2 can I keep the 2 mana creature in play somehow?

Nope - Angelic Renewal is a kinda weird effect - it's almost like regenerate, but a little off.

Angelic Renewal
Oracle text:  Whenever a creature is put into your graveyard from play, you may sacrifice Angelic Renewal. If you do, return that creature to play.

Pernicious Deed
Oracle text:  X, Sacrifice Pernicious Deed: Destroy each artifact, creature, and enchantment with converted mana cost X or less.

Basically, by the time the creature is going to the graveyard, so is angelic renewal.

Allow me to chime in.

Gort's answer is correct in one sense, but technically wrong.

The short answer is no, you won't be able to return the creature.

The reason is that by the time Angelic Renwal's triggered ability resolves, you won't be able to sacrifice it since it is no longer in play.  Since you cannot sacrifice Angelic Renewal, you cannot return the creature to play.

yeah figured that would happen...

Still worth asking would've made a great sideboard card against deed for WW to keep hate on the board...any other ideas?
