Viashino Heretic + Indestructible

If I use Viashino Heretic's ability on a Darksteel Colossus, does my opponent still take 11 damage even though the Colossus was never destroyed?

Yes. In the same way if you use artifact mutation on the colossuss, it will keep staying in play, but you will get 11 saprolings.
