So, if you absolutely had to add all but one of these cards to your deck, which one would you still leave out? Assume no errata is given to any of them. I realize many of you are playing with some of these cards, but other are not. Finally, if I there is a card that you think is worse that falls into a general category listed here (like, if you think Mobilization is more broken than Myr Matrix), just click that and explain below. Other is reserved for entire categories I may have overlooked. My reasoning behind the Plains is would you rather have completely broken cards in your deck, or completely useless ones?

Basically, which one of these would ruin your deck the most?

I voted "other" because my stack is Kamigawa-block only. I'm not running Gamerobber, the black Myojin, or Orochi Hatchery. Nor am I running Kumano, Kusari-Gama, or a couple others. Those cards would just be stupid, even if there are technically a few answers to some of them. It doesn't help that I have about 5 "hard" counters, and just a few "soft" ones.

There are plenty of terrible cards that I'm not playing, although otherwise useless cards like Strange Inversion or Lifted by Clouds can at least have stuff spliced onto it at instant speed (which actually surprisingly relevant, considering I was willing to "waste" a Rend Flesh on Konda the Indestructible, just to splice Reweave at Kuro, in one game). Nevertheless, I'd rather have relevant cards in my stack.

Staff of Domination, because if it ever resolves, that's game - you can just keep using it in response to any Stifle/artifact destruction/anything at all. Outside of like Null Rod/Damping Matrix and counterspells, there's no way to stop it.

You can use Rout or something to stop firebreathers, and you can use damage prevention and damage redirection to stop the X spells. There's almost nothing outside of the two cards I mentioned that deal with Staff.

I voted for Johnny, but Matt has a good point. If Staff drops though and you draw your entire deck, someone can put you out with Opportunity or other such cards, and drawing your entire deck isn't as useful as being able to select all the cards in your hand. Since you can only cast 1 per turn, you really don't want to be throwing away solid, but not awesome, cards. I think Johnny is right on par with staff really because staff can give infy life too. But Johnny is some good : )

The stack my playgroup uses is full of wrath effects and counters.  Because of this Staff/Johnny/Firebreathers are not a problem.  The problem is instant speed X kill spells.  Anyone who uses their spell for the turn is subject to instantly losing the game without any warning unless someone is kind enough to counter or deflect the spell.

I voted for Plains, because we already have almost all of the other cards.

I'm with Phil.  We play all but Myr Matrix and Fireball.
