Ronin Warclub and Shimmering Glasskite

If I play a Shimmering Glasskite, and I have a Ronin Warclub in play, does the Warclub attatch itself to the Glasskite, or does the Glasskite's ability make the Warclub not equip?

Warclub: When a creature comes into play under your control, attatch Ronin Warclub to that creature. Targetting isn't mentioned.

I could be wrong, but I'd have to imagine that it does indeed attach. While paying. an equip cost and equipping a creature targets, I think this is like how if you Replenish or Academy Rector out a Control Magic it can enchant a "can't be the target..." guy.

It wouldn't hurt to get a second opinion, though.
