Heres is my last card for this week. If youve noticed, they've all been 1 mana enchantments that help you net mana. Im thinking of tools for enchantress.dec, so Im really interested in keeping it as an enchantment.
As usual, my english is not good enough to let me get really creative with the card titles and flavour text, usually resulting in really crappy ones with bad spelling, so Ill leave that to you. The flavour is something along the lines of strip-mining or over-logging (you know, too much overexplotation of a lands potential)
Since the card text says "sacrifice", you can only use the ability on lands you control.

I think they already made this, and called it [card]Squandered Resources[/card].

I don't see how this is in any way similar to Squandered Resources in terms of gameplay. Squandered Resources basically just added incredible amounts of mana early game, with a negligible cost if you win that turn. Strip Mining is more of a way to get minor acceleration spikes once in a while. You can't get more than 1 mana per turn, and it's not even the same turn you play it.

Nevertheless, I do see problems with this card. It feels too calculated. You are deliberately marking a land so you can get more out of it later. Red wants stuff now, and does not really care about the future. This is definitely thinking about the future. It probably makes more sense black.

What I really like about this card is that it has a built in free recursion that is extremely hard to abuse. I guess it can be put into a really funky TurboEnchantress thingy, but I really doubt that's going to turn heads.

1) I dont see how its like squandered resources.
2) I think it is in red flavour. No other colour would be willing to sacrifice all future usage of a land for just a quick burst of mana.
3) It is abusable in enchantressm and I dont know if youve noticed, but this is basically a storm engine built into itself, since you can keep replaying it over and over for virtually no cost. That in itself makes it a bit overpowered.

Did you guys even READ Squandered Resources? It's the exact same mechanic, excpet better because it actually nets mana.

The mechanic is the same, but it will play differently simply because this doesn't net you mana.

As far as the card itself, goes, I think it's pretty much right. Red may not be ideal for it, since Squandered Resources marks this mechanics as G/B. On the other hand, things have changed since Visions -- red is now a significant player in the field of mana production.
