Hi all,
I'm here another time to tell you about our tourneys.
Are you tired of listening people speaking about Control Decks?
Are you tired to hear about long and noisy games?
Are you tired because your matchups usually end during the additional turns denying you your NEEDED trashtalking with friends and some smoke?

If "Y E S!!!" is the common answer to ALL of the asks above you can read what I'm going to say to you with true and religious interest...
Otherwise you can read the next lines only to satisfy my ego and nothing more... Wink

You can easily compare and realize data to find that:

--some Iper-Played decks didn't well during all the tourney because of the iherent difficulties at mastering it. Speaking of TPS, we had it as both the "Deck to Beat" and the "Worst to Master". It surfs through the final standing between the 1st and one of the last places. It testify how easily the deck can "scrub-you-out" while playing it.

--For the first time since 2 years, none, among our best Team ( here in Italy ) , Top8ed with the decks of their choices.

--T1Tog placed AT HIS WORST since at least 1 year.

--None seemed to prefer C-S to other forms of Control Decks. I'm not going to judge this trend because I think that it is not dependant on the Deck but only by the People involved on choosing which decks to play. Some Tier1s are hard to de-throne. Atog, Keeper and Oath seemed the decks' of the moment.

--Combo played well beats Control played well.
--Combo can crap out you mor efrequently than Control. This is the ONLY real reason because T1Tog and other Control decks seemed to have an edge ( at least since this tourney ) towards TPS.
TPS sometimes "lose games" by itself.
Unluckily seemed that it arrives out of gas ESPECIALLY during Top8s Wink
During this Tourney, I realized that the only players that posed a bit more atttention on "Combo-Mirrors" place better than the others.

In the end...
--Giuseppe aka "Siral" De Luca : "....One man travel ALONE!!! through the Italy...
...for hours and hours
...in a shitty train
...through the cold of the winter
...with a single deck
...with a single Idea
...with a single hot-dog
...with an ever-hungry stomach
...with a lot of sex made during the entire week
...without too much sleep
...without any attack phase to use
...without any idea where he is going
...without crashing anything
...without the moon guiding his heart
...without me...

...AND HE DROPPED before the Finals, because he is !!!the King!!! morally winning the entire tourney ... and the best girls in the playing area.
What a MAN!..."

This is the winning formula to play and Win with Funny & Coloured Cards! Wink

These are the data at now.
Enjoy!

Wink

Are you going to post the decklists anytime soon, I'm guessing they're not available yet. I'm sure people would like to see them, although italians play the same deck for like months on end Wink

@JuJu --> Added Wink
@DrSylvan --> Very Happy

This is a cold night and even the mages sometimes wanted some relief between the warmth of their four house's walls .

Writing...
Hearing music...
With a firm and gently rounded up ass between your legs...
Writing...
Hearing music...

"...Now once upon a time
An old man told me a fable
When the piper is gone
And the soup is cold upon the table
And if the black crow flies
Find a new destination
That is the sign

Come tonight
Come to the MtG site
Come to MtG battle fight..."

WelderMUD resolved another Pillar.
He played a little Tendril gaining 2 life points ( ToA for 8 damages ).
TPS drew into a Tinker for Jar ( taking out Crypt ) and drew 4 cards from his Necro.
WelderMUD played the third Pillar. TPS tried to find a FoW in order to counter it, crushing the Jar, totally tapped out, but failed and lost the match.

1-1-0

Game 3 - T1Tog
Game 1

T1Tog Duressed on turn 1 but TPS drew his Ancestral during turn 2 which resolved. He drew into his Jet and Duressed away opponent's Drain.
T1Tog was without counters and TPS resolved Memory Jar. Crushing Jar he found ( after a bit of manipulation ) Lotus, Demonic, Ritual and Y Will for the win.
Game 2
T1Tog didn't Duressed TPS on turn 1 while TPS Duressed him in order to resolve Ancestral. TPS intentionally forced a Gift Unforgiven during opponent's second turn EoT which was countered but that leave the way open for a Y. Bargain during the subsequent turn.

They both Draw-Go for a lot of turns collecting nothing but mana fonts.
TPS tried to with at some point: He tried a Ritual which met a Drain. He Ritualled again which resolved and then he tried a Timetwister which met a FoW which went FoWilled back by TPS. HE had 2 black mana in hi mana pool. The seven fresh new cards were Mox Mox Ritual Lotus FoF. TPS tried to resolve FoF which T1Tog tried to FoW. TPS Ancestralled in response, which resolve and FoWilled back the T1T's FoW. FoF revealed a Demonic Tutor for Y Will which won the game by it self.

3-1-1

Turn 6 - TPS-UB
Game 1

TPS#1 Ancestralled on first turn opponent's Upkeep which resolved.
TPS#2 Duressed away opponent's Tinker.

TPS#1 take the first 11 damages and his in last turn tried a Mind's Desire for 6 spells which showed up Sapphire, Jet, Emerald and Rebuild. Tendrils for a billion of damages followed soon after.

4-1-1

Turn 7 - TPS-UB
Game 1&2&3&4&5&6

The inexperienced player conceded to the experienced player splitting the eventual price.
They played a bit for fun.
The inexperienced player rolled over the experienced one at least enough to satisfy his ego. Smile

4-1-2

Quartefinals - Ubg-Oath
Game 1

TPS kept with 4 lands, VT and FoWx2.
Oath started with Duress which TPS Fowilled in order to protect his VT.
TPS resolved VT and sadly passed the turn.
Oath passed the turn with two mana open waiting for opponent's Ancestral Recall. TPS waited the opponent's move instead of resolving the Ancestral in a blind way.
Oath tapped out at some point to resolve an Intuition. TPS responded with Ancestral which resolved which drew him 3 lands. Intuition resolved and Oath resolved the sebsequent turn too but without and Orchard to win the game.
Both of them ASTONISHINGLY enough for all the people all around draw-go for at least 7 round.
At some point, TPS Duressed Oath expecting the usual pletora of counterspells. He had 3 Mox, a Beast and a Misdirection in hand, so Bargain resolved and TPS luckily won the game.
Game 2
Oath started with a land go.
!!!TPS Went Crazy mulliganing to 5!!!.
He kept Petal, Lotus and Brainstorm x3. He drew Necro and Brainstormed into Land, Mox & Duress. He Duressed away opponent's active counter and resolved Necro drawing 10 cards.
Oath Tutored and Arcane Lab and tried to resolve it with a bit of acceleration. TPS FoWilled it and won next turn.

5-1-2

Semifinals - WelderMUD
Game 1

TPS went first Sapphire, Jet, Ancestral, Duress and Walk.
This beatiful hand went unused because WelderMUD reveived a game loss for a not de-sided Duplicant during game 1.
Game 2
WelderMUD started but mulliganed to six.
TPS kept an hand with LoA, Petal, Ritual, Necro, Demonic Wish Mystical.
WelderMUD played Crypt, Mox and Trini, punishing the opponent.
TPS drew another land but missed the third and the fourth land drop, starting being beaten down by Karn, Trini and Wire.
Game 3

Just out of curiosity:

Why are the TPS decks playing Night of Soul's Betrayal in their sideboard instead of Engineered Plague? After all the Engineered Plague is easier to cast and you usually know at which creatures to aim.

For the extra mana you get to take out Faeries and Wizards, or Welders and Pentavite tokens, or Soldier tokens and Gorillas, etc.

The extra points of power reduction against random beaters might also help in providing the extra turn or two in order to garner a win - but this is probably a stretch.
