Unfortunatly a slim few people on these forums are alolwed to discuss relevant topics that vintage members only are allowed to post on. Seeing as how this makes it blatantly pointless for me to post on this site and mostly ueless to the rest of the people here I am going on an internet quest to find a site where perhaps I can actually get opinions and insight about type 1. If I can find a single good one I'll get back to the people here so that the newer "basic users" can find a place to learn about vintage.

Im busy searching fora better sight. I've found one that is infinitly better for it's users but the content seems dulled. However unlike here at the Manadrain they are doing this thing called "helping" players. Also they don't have a rank Hierarchy that has a test that Jacob and the admins friends can sidestep no matter how bad they are at magic.

What you fail to grasp, Denney, is that the reason that the content of that site is dulled is because they don't share TMD's standards and commitment to quality. I glanced at a few of the postings there and I recognized that people there aren't asked to communicate ideas. Many of the requests for help that I saw were bare deck lists. TMD forbids that kind of post for a reason -- it doesn't force a player to refine his understanding of how his own deck works and to clarify just what areas he'd like to improve. You complain about the unfriendly atmosphere here, but it appears that you don't understand that the hierarchy that you seem to hate so much is what makes TMD the clearinghouse for cutting edge Vintage technology that it is.

You mean the decks that are made by teams and hidden until tournaments and then AFTER the team does well in the tourny they show you a deck and are allready working on a completly different deck that noone will expect at the next tourny. yes cutting edge indeed. Also I found this site about 2 minutes after I first posted here. I'm checking all of it's board then moving to the next site. I have no doubts that I will find a better site.

The number of $$ won has been my goal. which makes local tournies far better for me but I like the big tournies bc non manadrain players and even some of the recluse good mana drain players are fun to play against. I can say i have made more money at MTG then I have spent on it. Which is good enough for me because normally the point of this game is having fun.

your a perfect example of this sites failures. that many posts and just a basic user aye? apparently the admin knows a winner when they see it. Also you mad a post saying not to leave a msg which essentialy voids itself. lalalal Plz Ban me so i cant ever post here again.
P.S. It is truly sad when I can say with 100% honesty that star city games has a better vintage forum then a site BASED around vintage magic, and run by vintage players.

7/4 can also be both. spells such a trinisphere and smokestack control the board but the big beaters like sundering titan get in for some massive damage.

such cards are Mind slaver, Illusions of Granduer, and Tendrills of Agony.

If there is a card that is good against a certain very popular deck but not much use against other decks it would be strategic to place it in your sideboard to put in against that deck. For example Rack and Ruin against stax.

For example if you are playing white weenie against stacks and you have Orims chant/ swords to plowshears/ and disenchant in your hand and your playing against Oath it would be better to  let them fetch akroma and go Chant- Disenchant oath-swords akroma.

The best three decks in the current metagame in my opinion are Controlslaver white weenie and 3CC

That's really what we should be asking you. There isn't any reason to send the test if you're going to be auto-failed. From this we can conclude that since you WERE sent the test, you were NOT auto-failed.

Obviously you're banned now but hopefully someone will see this and learn from your mistake(s).

What Orlove did when he posted your quotes is show everyone how unfounded your claims are.  If you didn't get the memo, WW doesn't work in T2 much less VINTAGE.  You are wrong and you suck and that forum you linked sucks.  If you add suddenly grown a brain stem you could have been promoted, but mispelling some of the most important cards of Vintage (okay,  2 were important, anyway) in a row as well as completely mis-understanding strategic superiority, and being completely dumb and obvious about the rest means you got owned by wrongess.

Denney, you clearly think that you have been given short shrift. I doubt that anything we can say to you will persuade you otherwise, but I feel obligated to try. You were sent the exam upon requesting it because the TMD staff does not pass judgement until they've seen your response. You were not passed or failed in advance. Your prior behaviour may have affected your likeliehood of passing, since one of the requests of the exam is a link to all of your posts on TMD. If you had posted poorly, then that would weigh against you. Having seen the excerpts from your response, however, I am confident that the administration here made the correct decision. Full Membership at The Mana Drain is a prestigious, earned title. Many persons, myself among them, have not yet earned full membership. You should consider it no slight that you were denied, but rather, you should consider why you were denied (and I reiterate that it was not because Jacob Orlove doesn't like you) and consider how to rectify the situation so that you can pass next time.

Okay.  My name is Kevin Binswanger.  I've written a few articles for Starcitygames, and I admit that i have a hell of a lot to learn.  And I've actually backed White Weenie up a few few times because it has good answers (if no search and draw) to Control Slaver.  However, it has this unfortunate habit of rolling over to combo.  If I ever do show up to any tournaments, it's not going to be Savannah Lions that puts me in the 0-2 drop category.

I think you have poor spelling and at best a questionable grasp of English grammar.  In addition, Jacob's post shows you have a stunning degree of ignorance about the format and Magic theory in general.  Furthurmore, you aren't even attempting to dispute our assesment of your exam response as unfathomably stupid.  Instead you are ranting about how you are somehow going to find a better Type 1 site and about your paranoid delusion that Jacob for some reason has it in for you. I know Jacob, I've met the guy, and I've borrowed power from him.  He's pretty swell, and certainly not the kind of guy who would go after someone without just cause.  Do you find yourself believing you are being persecuted often? If so, perhaps you should see a psychiatrist as paranoid delusions are sometimes a symptom of shizophrenia.  In the mean time, unless you clean up your act, I don't think we want you here.
