Personally I pick Bullit still, but a few other movies I've seen have awesome chases.

Ronin had a really good one and the above ground chase in the French Connection chase is still fun to watch. Very Happy Your picks?

I haven't seen many action flicks in recent years, but I do remember being impressed (amused?) by the silly mini-cooper chases in The Italian Job.

Bullitt is pretty awesome, and even more so when you realize that they did it by well, driving 120 mph through San Francisco rather than with smoke and mirrors.

The chase scene in The Blues Brothers has to be my all time favorite.

I remember loving the chase scene in Bad Boys 2 immensely...to the point I tortured Thorme and SliverKing with descriptions of it half the way to GenCon in '03

The highway car chase in The Matrix: Reloaded is the best one I've seen.

EDIT: meant Reloaded, said Revolutions the first time.

Terminator 3 chase scene was basically the entire good part of the movie. Not the best car chase scene ever, I'm sure but that's all that came to mind.

I thought Ronin was the best until I saw Matrix Revolutions, which I now call the best car chase I've seen.  I hear that Bourne Supremacy had a really good one, but I haven't had the opportunity to see that yet.

I think what you people mean is Matrix: Reloaded. I don't even remember a car chase in Revolutions, whereas Reloaded's is like fifteen minutes long and kicks every kind of ass available. I think that's the only car chase which actually impressed me; when I saw Ronin and the Bourne movies, whipping around corners and shooting at people wasn't really thrilling. Bad Boys 2 did a pretty good job of making it entertaining by mixing in the dialogue between the characters with totally bizarre types of action. (A boat! Bodies! Cool!)

Blues Brothers was of course hilarious.

My Top 10 Car Chase Scenes (1 being the best):
Honorable Mention) The Road Warrior (the best chase scene of the best trilogy of all time)
10) Beverly Hills Cop (Axel Foley, played by Eddie Murphy, tries to hang on to inside of an 18 wheeler while some maniacal drivers smashes up the city while being chased by Detroit's Finest; hilarity ensues)
9) On Her Majesty's Secret Service (Bond manages to take the car chase through a crash-up-and-derby; not exhilirating, but cool nonetheless)
8) The Man With the Golden Gun (While chasing Scaramanga, Bond manages to do a midair 360 in a car without the help of any cables or special effects)
7) The Italian Job (the original is better than the new one)
6) The French Connection (Gene Hackman jacks some poor motorist's car, then chases a suspect who's riding the elevated train in Chicago)
5) The Bourne Supremacy
4) Bullit (60's muscle cars duel at top speeds through the hills of San Francisco)
3) Code of Silence (a TransAm, driven by Chuck Norris, chases after a limo full of bad guys through pre-remodeled Lower Wacker Drive in Chicago; you must see this to appreciate it)
2) Ronin
1) The Bourne Identity (French cops chase Jason Bourne/Matt Damon through the city of Paris; the chase in this is much better than the second sequel)

If you really want to get into car chase scenes, check out this self titled Car Chase Hall of Fame I found, or the Movie Car Chase Database.

'The Bourne Supremacy' had the worst car chase I've ever seen. And by worst, I mean BOOOOOOORING. Man, I couldn't wait for that to end.

The french movie 'Taxi' has some brilliant chase scenes. Also, 'Gone in 60 Seconds' had some decent ones.

While a little unorthodox, Way of the Gun has one of the coolest chase scenes in recent memory.

Taxi.

Ronin wasn't bad either.

With any luck, this movie will have the best car chase in it.
